The Time War. The Doctor has been injured and brought to a Time
Lord field hospital. His body glows with energy, but this is no
regeneration into a future form – instead, the Doctor’s past
faces begin to appear as he flits haphazardly between
incarnations… Staggering to his TARDIS, the Doctor sets out to
solve the mystery of his ‘degeneration’. Who has done this to
him? How? And why? From the Earth to the stars, across an array of
familiar times and places, he follows clues to retrace his steps,
encountering old friends and enemies along the way. Tumbling
through his lives, the Doctor must stop his degeneration before he
loses himself completely... Further story details to follow.
More than a fad, teaming is proving to be a new way of
organizational life, with eight out of every ten employees now
involved in some kind of teamwork. But how exactly does one play on
a team at work? While there are plenty of manuals, trainers, and
theories that help managers create, lead, and reward teams, actual
team members are often left struggling without a handbook or a
coach.
With refreshing clarity and common sense, Maureen O'Brien, a team
expert with more than twenty years of experience as a player,
coach, and business consultant, offers one-on-one coaching tips to
team players in Who's Got the Ball? The author covers all the
bases, from setting a team's goals and articulating its noble
purpose, to banishing boring meetings, deciding how to make
decisions, and even using flip charts effectively. Friendly and
conversational, O'Brien offers experience-based, easy-to-implement
guidelines that are eminently practical and surprisingly fun. Her
concise coaching notes, wonderfully illustrated by real-life
organizational situations, address every aspect of daily team life,
including: creating a workable team structure * being a valuable
team member * avoiding common teamwork traps * running an effective
team meeting * making and implementing decisions * leading a team.
From developing a new team and determining just what kind of game
your team is playing--individualistic baseball, interdependent
basketball, or tightly orchestrated football--to dealing with
personality-based conflicts, knowing when to take a time-out, and
honoring a project's most valuable player, Who's Got the Ball? is
an invaluable guide to surviving--and thriving--on today's work
teams.
Four new stories from across the First Doctor's era; 1. Fields of
Terror by John Pritchard. The TARDIS has brought the Doctor back to
Revolutionary France, a place that's always fascinated him. But
this time he, along with Steven and Vicki, are drawn into a
devastated land, caught between the soldiers who are burning all
before them and a monstrous shape that follows in their wake. 2.
Across the Darkened City by David Bartlett. On the planet Shade,
The Chaons, an invading race of strange, amorphous creatures that
ravenously absorb energy, have reduced the city there to a desolate
ruin. Separated from the Doctor and Vicki, Steven has to join
forces with an unexpected ally to find his way back to the TARDIS.
Ahead, lies a nightmare journey through the dark - a test of
endurance and trust. 3. The Bonfires of the Vanities by Una
McCormack. When the Doctor, Polly, and Ben arrive in Lewes in the
late 1950s, they're just in time to celebrate Guy Fawkes' Night.
But there's no fun on the streets tonight - the town is in the grip
of fear. There are imps on the loose in Lewes, the Bonfire Boys are
on the march, and nobody is safe from the fire. 4. The Plague of
Dreams by Guy Adams. "Pray welcome, one and all, to this, a fantasy
in two acts, presented, most humbly, for your pleasure. We bring
you drama and magic, angels and demons, a tale of mysterious
plague... of nightmares made flesh... of a war fought both in this
world and those immeasurably distant. A war, in fact, fought
through the mists of time itself. It will make you gasp! It will
make you weep! It may even make some of you wake-up..." CAST:
Maureen O'Brien (Vicki), Robert Hands (Lagrange), Peter Purves
(Steven Taylor), Anneke Wills (Polly), Elliot Chapman (Ben Jackson
/ The Player), Helen Goldwyn (The Chaons) and Nicholas Briggs as
the Daleks.
An unabridged reading of this novelisation of a classic 1965 TV
serial featuring the First Doctor, as played on TV by William
Hartnell. The TARDIS materialises on what, at first sight, appears
to be a dry and lifeless planet serving only as a graveyard for
spaceships. The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki discover a
magnificent museum housing relics from every corner of the galaxy.
These have been assembled by the Moroks, a race of cruel conquerors
who have invaded the planet Xeros and enslaved its inhabitants.
Upon further exploration the TARDIS crew seem to stumble upon the
impossible: for suddenly, facing them in an exhibit case, they
find...themselves! Duration: 5 hours approx.
A collectible slipcase containing three exciting Doctor Who
audiobooks, each featuring the Daleks! In Daleks: The Chase, the
TARDIS is pursued through Time and Space by the Daleks, who are
intent on preventing any future intervention in their plans by the

of Time, the leader of Earth in the far future, Mavic Chen, has
allied himself with the Daleks. When the Doctor steals the core of
the Time Destructor, his arch enemies pursue him across the galaxy
in order to retrieve it. Read by Maureen O'Brien, Peter Purves and
Jean Marsh, with Nicholas Briggs as the voice of the Daleks, these

From his one previous visit the Doctor remembers the inhabitants of
the planet Dido as a gentle, peace-loving people. But when he
returns, things have changed dramatically. It seems that the Didoi
have brutally massacred the crew of the crashed spaceliner Astra.
Even now they are threatening the lives of the sole survivors,
Bennett and the orphan girl Vicki. Why have the Didoi apparently
turned against their peaceful natures? Can Bennett and Vicki
survive until the rescue ship from Earth arrives? And who is the
mysterious Koquillion? Maureen O'Brien, who played Vicki in the
original Doctor Who TV serial, reads Ian Marter's complete and
unabridged novelisation, first published by Target Books in 1987. 4
CDs. 4 hrs 36 mins.
A multi-voice retelling of historical events featuring the First
Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Vicki. The TARDIS crewmembers have taken a
break from their adventures and are enjoying a well-deserved rest
in a luxury villa. But, in the gory grandeur that is Imperial Rome,
things don't stay quiet for long. If the time travellers can save
themselves from being sold as slaves, assassinated by classical
hit-men, poisoned by the evil Locusta, thrown to the lions, maimed
in the arena and drowned in a shipwreck, they still have to face
the diabolical might of the mad Emperor Nero. As if that wasn't
enough, they also discover that, although Rome wasn't built in a
day, it burnt down in considerably less time... Tim Treloar, Jamie
Glover, Dan Starkey, Clare Corbett, Jon Culshaw, Maureen O'Brien
and Louise Jameson are the readers of Donald Cotton's epistolary
novelisation, a shining example of the wit and drama of Doctor Who.

In 2014, Big Finish started a new range of Doctor Who stories,
bringing back original cast members from the 1960s eras in order to
tell new stories: they're audio tales in black and white! When the
TARDIS lands in a house in Florence, Italy in 1514, it isn't long
before the guards of Guiliano de Medici arrest Steven and Vicki. To
rescue them, the Doctor has to employ the help of the house's owner
- one Niccolo Machiavelli. But can he be completely trusted?
Guiliano confesses to his brother Pope Leo X that he has angered
the wealthy family of Ravelli and believes the newcomers may be
part of an assassination plot. But when the Doctor arrives an
already tricky situation starts to spiral out of control. As the
city rings with plot and counter-plot, betrayal and lies abound.
The Doctor and his friends must use all their ingenuity if they're
not to be swept away by history. This conspiracy is about to get
complicated. This range of era-authentic new stories has been
hugely popular with fans, with a further two series already
commissioned! Peter Purves is known to generations as one of the
all-time great Blue Peter presenters, but this came after an acting
career which he's returning to here to play both the Doctor and
1960s companion Steven Taylor. Maureen O'Brien - 1960s Doctor Who
companion Vicki - is also a novelist whose works include Mask of
Betrayal (1998), Every Step You Take (2004) and Deadly Reflection
(2007). Guest star Olivia Poulet is well known for her role as Emma
Messinger in The Thick of It. She's also recently played Emma Peel
in Big Finish's revival of The Avengers - Steed & Mrs Peel.
CAST: Maureen O'Brien (Vicki), Peter Purves (Steven Taylor/The
Doctor/Narrator), Mark Frost (Niccolo Machiavelli), Jamie Ballard
(Guiliano de Medici), Robert Hands (Pope Leo X), Olivia Poulet
(Carla), Joe Bor (Guard Captain).

Maureen O'Brien reads an action-packed original adventure for the
Twelfth Doctor, as played on TV by Peter Capaldi. When Professor
Irene Hyde's Monday morning lecture at St Luke's University is
rudely interrupted by a man named the Doctor, it's the beginning of
an adventure she could never have dreamt possible. Soon they are
hurtling backwards in time to 1806, where the crew of the trading
ship Favorite, led by the 'Ice King' himself, Frederic Tudor, are
being picked off, one by one, by a hideous monster that lurks in
the shadows. A head frozen in ice provides a further complication
to matters, as the robotic Nekkre awakes determined to vanquish
all-comers. With the Doctor seriously weakened, Irene must tap into
hidden reserves of courage if they are to have any hope of
returning to 21st Century England... Maureen O'Brien, who played

This narrated TV soundtrack stars William Hartnell as the Doctor in
one of his most weird and wonderful adventures. "We seem to be
caught! Trapped, somehow..." In this vintage six-part serial, first
shown on BBC TV in February and March 1965, a strange magnetic
force pulls the TARDIS down to the craterous surface of Vortis. The
Doctor and his friends learn that the planet has been invaded, and
the parasitic Animus is slowly enveloping it in a web-like domain.
The giant ant-like Zarbi are under its control, whilst the
butterfly-like Menoptra are battling to reclaim their planet.
Narrated by Maureen O'Brien, this full-cast soundtrack evokes a
classic Doctor Who adventure in all its aural magnificence. The
alien ambience of Vortis, the insistent chirruping of the Zarbi,
and the supernatural voice of the Animus are all accompanied by the
eerie sonics of Ron Grainer & Delia Derbyshire's theme tune.
Written by Bill Strutton, this was the Doctor's most exotic and
lavish adventure yet. Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes (P) 2020 BBC
