This work provides a practical presentation of the uses and
interpretation of abdominal plain film for the small animal
practitioner. It includes essential clinical information in a
concise and easy to access format for the veterinary practitioner
and student. The work is designed to help the reader to learn how
to transform a radiograph from a flat black and white picture to a
3D image with multiple shades of grey, an improved visualisation of
the abdomen that it represents. This publication describes the
normal appearance of the abdomen, ways in which the radiographic
appearance changes to reflect disease, basic radiographic
techniques, and common abdominal disorders. Contained within this
book are around 250 images that add value to the text component.
Topics covered include: radiographic technique; normal radiographic
anatomy of the abdomen; peritoneal cavity; intra-abdominal masses;
alimentary tract; urinary tract; and reproductive tract and
anomalies.
