In the history of education, the question of how computers were introduced into European classrooms has so far been largely neglected. This edited volume strives to address this gap. The contributions shed light on the computerization of education from a historical perspective, by attending closely to the different actors involved - such as politicians, computer manufacturers, teachers, and students -, political rationales and ideologies, as well as financial, political, or organizational structures and relations. The case studies highlight differences in political and economic power, as well as in ideological reasoning and the priorities set by different stakeholders in the process of introducing computers into education. However, the contributions also demonstrate that simple cold war narratives fail to capture the complex dynamics and entanglements in the history of computers as an educational technology and a subject taught in schools. The edited volume thus provides a comprehensive historical understanding of the role of education in an emerging digital society.

Seit dem letzten Drittel des 20. Jahrhunderts wurden Politik und Verwaltung als Steuerungszentrum der Gesellschaft grundlegend in Frage gestellt. Unter dem Begriff der 'Governance' setzte man neu auf Kooperation und Selbstregulierung sowie auf eine schlanke Burokratie. Diese Entwicklung brachte nicht nur neue Techniken der Steuerung des Bildungswesens hervor, sondern fuhrte auch zu einer Neubewertung der Rolle von Expertise im Steuerungsprozess. Uber kaum eine andere Form der Kapitalanlage wird in der Presse so kontrovers diskutiert wie uber Hedge Funds. Fur die einen stellen sie die Investitionsmoglichkeit schlecht hin dar, die unabhangig von Marktschwankungen beachtliche Uberrenditen erzielen konnen. Fur die anderen sind sie Teufelszeug, welche das Weltfinanzsystem gefahrden. Kein Wunder also, dass sich immer mehr Anleger und Kundenberater mit dieser Anlageklasse beschaftigen und darin, nach einer vierjahrigen Aktienhausse, eine echte Anlagealternative sehen. Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit sollen zum einen die Grundstrukturen von Hedge Funds beleuchtet werden, um so dem interessierten Leser einen Uberblick uber die unterschiedlichsten Anlagetechniken von Hedge Funds zu geben. Im folgenden sollen die vermeintlichen Vorteile von Hedge Funds gegenuber traditionellen Anlagen kritisch beleuchtet werden. In Kapitel vier sollen dem potenziellen Investor weitere Hemmnisse aufgezeigt werden, mit denen er sich vor einer Investition in Hedge Funds auseinandersetzen sollte.

In dieser Arbeit wird die Wirtschaftlichkeit einer Bioethanolanlage mittlerer Gr e am Produktionsstandort Deutschland untersucht. Mit der Durchf hrung einer Analyse des Bioethanolmarktes wird das zuk nftige Potenzial von Bioethanol in Deutschland und in der Europ ischen Union ermittelt. In diesem Zusammenhang werden unterschiedliche Entwicklungsm glichkeiten des Bioethanolmarktes ber Szenarios dargestellt. Darauf basierend wird im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit eine Investitionsrechnung durchgef hrt. Mit Hilfe der Kapitalwertmethode werden die Amortisationszeiten unterschiedlicher Szenarios ermittelt. Weiterhin wird ber die interne Zinsfu methode die Rentabilit t der Investition ermittelt. Auf Basis der Ergebnisse wird unter Ber cksichtigung verschiedener Einflussfaktoren eine Investitionsentscheidung getroffen.
