Zur Grundlegung des Wissensarten-Projekts erlautert Helmut F. Spinner das modulare Wissenskonzept des Karlsruher Ansatzes fur eine differentielle Wissenstheorie und dokumentiert in einem zusammenfassenden Bericht die Entwicklung. Ergebnisse, Planungen des Gesamtprojekts. In Beitragen der beiden anderen Herausgeber sowie von Vertretern der Informatik und Mathematik, Philosophie und Geisteswissenschaften, Rechts-, Wirtschafts- und anderen Sozialwissenschaften werden Weiter-, Fehl- und Gegenentwicklungen zu aktuellen Problemlagen diskutiert (Informationsgesellschaft, Internet, alte und neue Medien, Technikregime, Eigentumsformen fur Wissen, Rechtsfragen u.a.).
