Dazu ist es fur diese Unternehmen von grosser Bedeutung zu wissen, welche an sie Kunden gebunden sind und wie das Phanomen der Kundenbindung uberhaupt greifbar gemacht werden kann. Die nachfolgende Arbeit soll versuchen Ansatze zu liefern, Kundenbindung zu operationalisieren und zu messen. Dies geschieht am Beispiel eines Mobilfunkanbieters. Hierbei soll, aufgrund der besonderen Wettbewerbsverhaltnisse in dieser Branche, ein spezieller Blickwinkel der Bindung eines Kunden an seinen Anbieter untersucht werden. Dieser besondere Aspekt ist die Kundenbindung aus emotionaler Sicht, d.h. die freiwillige Bindung bzw. die Verbundenheit eines Kunden an seinen Mobilfunkanbieter. Da dieses Phanomen auf diesem Markt erst sehr wenig erforscht worden ist, werden zunachst einige, in der Literatur erwahnte und grosstenteils auf anderen Markten empirisch erforschten, Ansatze zur Erklarung der Kundenbindung auf ihre Relevanz fur die Erklarung der emotionalen Kundenbindung untersucht. Aus diesen Beitragen ergeben sich Bestimmungsgrossen, die auf das interessierende Phanomen wirken konnen und eine Einteilung der Kunden in Klassen hinsichtlich dieser emotionalen Kundenbindung unter Umstanden moglich machen. Dazu wird in dieser Studie ein Fragebogen erarbeitet, der diese Einflussgrossen in Form von Fragen oder Statements beinhaltet und im Zuge einer telefonische Befragung des Mobilfunkanbieters zum Einsatz kommen soll. Aufgrund zeitlicher und technischer Probleme ist diese Erhebung nicht mehr Teil dieser Arbeit. Auf Empfehlungen zur Datenanalyse soll aber dennoch eingegangen werden.
