Did the Beatles originate the Beatle haircut? boots? collarless
jackets? No. Did they start the trend of self-contained rock groups
(three guitarists and a drummer) composing their own hits? No. Did
the British musical invasion end American performers' careers?
Dominate American music charts? No and no. Surprised? Relying on
music industry data (Top 40 and 100 lists, U.S. and U.K. hits by
British groups, British groups' hits on the 1964 U.S. charts, 1980s
television commercials employing ""oldies"" music, and other
comparisons), The Beatle Myth rebuts the revisionist rock
historians who greatly exaggerated the impact of the Beatles and
other British groups upon the U.S. pop music scene beginning in
1964. Widely held (and cherished!) myths that have grown over the
years are debunked in the process.

these areas of private law. Topics covered include the politics and
philosophy of tort law reform, the role of good faith in contract
law, comparative perspectives on setting aside contracts for
mistake and the theory and practice of proprietary remedies in the

of theoretical approaches to bear on the analysis of private law.
They include: economic analysis, corrective justice theory,
comparative analysis of law, socio-legal inquiry, social history,

tort law, proposals in all these jurisdictions to reform the law.
The book presents the theory of private law and the application of
theory to practical legal problems in an accessible form to
teachers and students of tort, contract and the law of unjust
enrichment, legal researchers and law reformers.

Sometimes an inheritance can be a curse. Blood. That's what Tara
sees. Her village destroyed. Her Grada dead. Her friends taken. Now
she's chasing shadows-a cryptic message to find someone she's never
heard of in a town she's never visited. But strange things is what
Tara will find. Things she can't explain. People will fear her.
Others will want her caught. Powerful people. Blood. Her blood.
That's what they want. And they'll do anything to get it. USA Today
Best selling author Michelle Bryan has done it again. A captivating
story of survival, love, and hope. Get it today. A previous edition
of this work was published as Awaken, part of the New Bloods series
In this book the author presents an historical examination of sound
change and other developments in the very-nearly extinct Gurage
language known as Mesmes while also considering the linguistic and
social environments in which the language has been lost. The study
provides evidence for Mesmes linguistic relatedness with the other
Gurage languages and with the Peripheral West Gurage subgroup in
particular. The account also considers the impact of phenomena
related to language loss and the linguistic effects of contact with
Hadiyya, the language to which the Mesmes people have shifted
today. The comparative work relies on previously published sources
as well as unpublished fieldnotes and also provides the first fully
annotated and interlinearized Mesmes text. This examination
underscores that historical-comparative work may benefit from
serious consideration of external, contact-related phenomena while
at the same time not compromising a commitment to shared
innovations as determined by the Comparative Method.
