Digital Transformation and Economic Development in Bangladesh - Rethinking Digitalization Strategies for Leapfrogging... Digital Transformation and Economic Development in Bangladesh - Rethinking Digitalization Strategies for Leapfrogging (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2022)
Monzur Hossain
R1,492 Discovery Miles 14 920 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

This book assesses the digital Bangladesh initiative of the government through different lenses: supply-side and demand-side perspectives and policy diffusions. The Bangladesh government has been pursuing a big-push policy for digitalization, namely the "Digital Bangladesh Vision," since 2009 as a shifting development strategy to leapfrog into the next level of development with the leverage of demographic dividend. However, historical anecdotes, dictated policy, international success stories and other related issues could lead to a rethinking on ICT-based development strategy. The content of the book draws on the author's long-standing research works on ICTs and economic growth in Bangladesh.

CORS in Action (Paperback): Monsur Hossain CORS in Action (Paperback)
Monsur Hossain
R1,276 Discovery Miles 12 760 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

DESCRIPTION Most web developers have encountered the "same-origin" policy enforced by all browsers-pages and applications can't access data from domains other than the one that serves them. This limitation means that complex server-side code is needed in order to share data between different domains. CORS, Cross-Origin Resource Sharing, is a new web standard that provides a safe method for cross-domain access. CORS in Action introduces Cross-Origin Resource Sharing from both the server and the client perspective. It starts with the basics: making CORS requests and implementing CORS on the server. It then explores key details such as performance, debugging, and security. API authors learn how CORS opens APIs to a wider range of users. JavaScript developers will find valuable techniques for building rich web apps that can take advantage of APIs hosted anywhere. The techniques described in this book are especially applicable to mobile environments, where browsers are guaranteed to support CORS. RETAIL SELLING POINTS CORS from the ground up Best practices for building CORS APIs Explains different cross-origin technologies CORS security AUDIENCE This book is written for web developers with a working knowledge of JavaScript. No CORS experience is required. ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY CORS is a good fit for mobile technology and is the cornerstone of building open web APIs. Traditionally, web developers would have to add a server-side component to their web apps in order to access APIs. CORS allows the entire web application, including API access to reside inside JavaScript and the browser.

Potato Improvement Through In Vitro Techniques (Paperback): Sk Amzad Hossain, Rafiul Islam, Monzur Hossain Potato Improvement Through In Vitro Techniques (Paperback)

Different aspects of micropropagation through meristem culture for the production of virus indexed source plants, callus induction followed by subsequent plant regeneration, in vitro tuberization and field evaluation of the in vitro regenerated plants were studied on four commercial cultivars of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) viz., Diamant, Cardinal, Shilbilati and Lalpakri. Rooted plantlets of four potato cultivars obtained directly through meristem culture and indirectly via callus phase were gradually acclimatized and successfully established in the field. Visual evaluation of the morphological traits of the meristem-derived plants showed that all plants were normal and free from virus diseases. Substantial yield increase was observed from meristem-derived plants over their source plants. Somaclonal variation among different plants derived from callus was observed. The present investigation also addressed in vitro tuberization in potato. The potato plants derived from microtubers of four varieties under field condition was similar to look as that of normal seed propagated plants.
