Based on the international bestseller, THE RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST is both a gripping thriller and a fascinating look at the post-9/11 world. Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Kiefer Sutherland and Liev Schreiber lead a powerful cast in the story of a young man caught in the middle of an unfolding international crisis.
When an American academic in Pakistan is kidnapped by anti-American radicals, the CIA thinks popular young Pakistani professor Changez is involved. But as Changez tells his remarkable story about his life in the US - including his rising career on Wall Street and passionate relationship with a beautiful New York artist - to an American foreign correspondent, the truth becomes harder to pin down.
Acclaimed director Mira Nair's adaptation of Mohsin Hamid's novel is a tense tale of hidden agendas and best intentions gone wrong.

A Bangalore police procedural featuring Inspector Borei Gowda, a
splendidly grumpy, hard-drinking, deeply flawed character whose
chaotic home life includes an absent wife, an estranged son and an
enigmatic mistress. It all begins when elderly Professor Mudgood is
murdered in his kitchen at 2 am on a November night. As Gowda
investigates, he discovers that many people might have wanted the
professor dead. He had been a vocal critic of the Hindutva Movement
whose ethnic nationalism has gained traction recently, often at the
expense of Islamic and Christian minorities. Also disturbing is the
fact that the professor's extensive property in the centre of
bustling Bangalore would be a gold mine in the hands of ruthless
developers with access to corrupt politicians. And there is no
shortage of such characters, even in the professor's immediate
entourage. The fast-paced plot has many surprising twists leading
to an ominous end, but police work is not just about going out and
catching crooks. All kinds of office politics, caste politics and
other considerations make Gowda's life complicated. Anita Nair
lives in Bangalore, and her disclosure of Gowda's thoughts
elsewhere in the series is telling: "This was a city where dog ate
dog, rat devoured rat, and everyone would get ahead if they
dismissed their conscience."
This comprehensive and engaging Research Handbook provides a full
examination of the modes and mechanisms of international knowledge
transfer. Furthermore, it also provides in-depth insights into
international knowledge transfer related challenges faced by
multinational enterprises (MNEs). Chapters written by
well-respected contributors provide extensive insights into the
economic, technological, social, cultural and organizational
aspects of knowledge transfer in international business and
management. They also highlight the contextual influences imposed
by the industrial sectors and countries that MNEs are associated
with. Organised into three thematic parts, this Research Handbook
provides interesting and important directions for future research
within each chapter giving readers an opportunity to pursue these
in greater depth. This timely Research Handbook will be an
invaluable resource for scholars and researchers of international
business and knowledge management. The practical case studies will
provide a greater understanding of the topic and its challenges for
managers of MNEs.

A P Balachandran has a long and impressive record of research in
particle physics and quantum field theory, bringing concepts of
geometry, topology and operator algebras to the analysis of
physical problems, particularly in particle physics and condensed
matter physics. He has also had an influential role within the
physics community, not only in terms of a large number of students,
research associates and collaborators, but also serving on the
editorial boards of important publications, including the
International Journal of Modern Physics A.This book consists of
articles by students and associates of Balachandran. Most of the
articles are scientific in nature, with topics ranging from
noncommutative geometry, particle physics phenomenology, to
condensed matter physics. Various chapters focus on new
perspectives and directions resulting from Balachandran's
contributions to physics, as well as some reminiscences of
collaborating and working with Balachandran.
Tropical root and tuber crops form an important group of food crops
for millions of people (about one-fifth of the world population),
especially those living in the tropical and sub-tropical zones.
Tuber crops are the third important food crops after cereals and
grain legumes. The carbohydrates synthesized in the leaves and
stored in the form of starch in the underground roots and tubers,
which are not only for food, but also a raw material for several
industries. Among the many tuber crops available, only a few have
been domesticated and widely cultivated for edible and industrial
purposes. This book addresses the principal issues connected with
selected tuber and root crops, their origin, global distribution,
cultivation details, and their global commercial potential,
vis-Ã -vis the end products made out of them (value addition).
Among the crops, sweet potato, cassava, yams, colocasia, west
Indian arrowroot, asparagus, safed musli, Indian Bread root and
gloria superba will be discussed. From various projections, it is
evident that by the year 2050 the world population will face a
serious food shortage, if current trends in cereals consumption is
taken intoaccount. That is why root and tuber crops assume great
importance. Contrary to the high-fertility soils, which are a
requirement for principal cereals like rice and wheat, root and
tuber crops can grow quite well in poor soils, under varying
climatic conditions.Â
'Light' from low level laser therapy, through a process called
photobiomodulation (PBM), has been in existence in supportive care
in cancer, in particular in the management of oral mucositis (OM)
in patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy and
haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In this book the authors
attempt to portray the current status of the supportive care
interventions that are possible with PBM using low level laser
therapy (LLLT) in patients undergoing cancer treatment for solid
tumours, harmatological malignancies, and head and neck cancers.

Empowering learners for life requires a fundamental shift in higher
education curriculum design. New priorities, pedagogies,
technologies, spaces, and assessment strategies are required to
enable learners to take ownership of their learning.
"Student-centeredness" concepts are still prescriptive in nature as
most decisions on curriculum, assessment, teaching, and learning
approaches are still teacher-centric. Teachers are developing
student-centered learning environments without the involvement of
the learners in the planning, decision making, and/or design
process. In addition, some lecturers are still practicing the
traditional approaches of content delivery and conventional
assessment methods rather than experimenting with innovative
practices suited for student-centered approaches. Therefore, there
is an ongoing need for research focused on the importance and
effectiveness of a paradigm shift in education that involves
student-teacher partnerships, fueled by innovative teaching and
learning designs, where students take an active role and contribute
as partners in learning. Transforming Curriculum Through
Teacher-Learner Partnerships captures experiences and evidence
among teachers in exploring the possibility of active student
participation in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment
through teacher-learner partnership. The chapters address issues of
teacher-learner partnerships in designing the learning environment
and how student-centered methods create resilient, adaptable, and
future-capable learners. While highlighting topics within this
scope such as learner autonomy, learning performance,
self-efficacy, and teaching pedagogy, this book is ideally intended
for teachers, administrators, teacher educators, practitioners,
stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in
issues related to the teacher-learner partnership.
