A century ago the dominant philosophical outlook was not some form of materialism or naturalism, but idealism. However, this way of thinking about reality fell out of favour in the Anglo-American analytic tradition as well as the Continental schools of the twentieth century. The aim of this book is to restage and reassess the encounter between idealism and contemporary philosophy. The idealist side will be represented by the great figures of the 19th-century post-Kantian tradition in Germany, from Fichte and Schelling to Hegel, followed by the towering Hegelians in Britain led by T.H. Green, F.H. Bradley and Bernard Bosanquet. Their 20th-century adversaries will be represented by the secular existentialists, especially the famous French trio of Sartre, Beauvoir and Camus, who sought to follow Nietzsche in philosophizing in light of the death of God. And the arena of encounter will be the philosophy of religion-more specifically, questions relating to the nature and existence of God, death and the meaning of life, and the problem of evil. The book argues that the existentialist critique of idealism enables an innovative as well as a more critical and adventurous approach that is sorely needed in philosophy of religion today. Each case study examines the establishment of corporatised or autonomous universities in the country focusing on (i) the acts, reports, and/or policies that led to such a move as well as the rationales behind the move; (ii) the changes in the governance and organisational structure of the universities, highlighting the kinds of autonomy that the universities have; (iii) the new management strategies, techniques, and practices that have been introduced to the university including the internal and external quality assurance mechanisms, and (iv) some of the tensions, conflicts, and acts of resistance that may have emerged.

The tenth volume of Flora Vostochnoi Evropy [Flora of Eastern Europe] is a direct continuation of Flora Evropeiskoi Chasti SSSR [Flora of Russia: The European Part and Bordering Regions] and includes 19 families of Class Dicotyledones (Magnoliophyta) of which the important ones are Ranunculaceae and Rosaceae; families with great economic importance. The smaller families, to some extent, adjoining these two families, are Papaveraceae, Crassulaceae, and Saxifragaceae.

Beginning with an introduction to the T-product approach in the theory of a particle interacting with bosonic fields as applied, for example, to the linearized polaron model, the book goes on to deal with the equilibrium state investigation for the Fr lich polaron model, the main objective being to derive Bogolubov's inequality for the reduced free energy of the polaron. The third chapter deals with some problems related to the non-equilibrium polaron theory, including polaron kinetics. Finally, alternative methods used in polaron theory are also presented and compared with Bogolubov's method.

Volume two of the series focuses on the topics of extraction, filtration, heatless adsorption, hydrometallurgical extraction, interfacial phenomena, separation of gases by regenerative sorption, various polymeric membrane systems, such as electrodialysis, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis.
