We are at a watershed of history. The human race is now so numerous
and its technological power so great that we are having an
unprecedented impact on the biosphere, the entire planet. The need
to control this impact is giving rise to a new kind of
politics--the politics of the planet. The most urgent problem we
face is that of climate change. This book gives a vigorous and
candid account of how governments tentatively felt their way to the
first international agreements on climate change and the ozone
layer, how these work, and the long-term implications for global
governance. It points to the roles that businesses and ordinary
citizens can play, and the changes we can expect in our daily
lives. This is an area in which politics, technology and economics
meet. In this sweeping and energetic book, the author goes on to
look at the major planetary issues that confront us now or that are
close over the horizon, and the ethical issues of our relationship
to our environment that they raise. Amid the dangers, he finds
ground for hope.Anyone with an interest in the human condition as
we spin further into the new century will find this an enlightening
and rewarding book.

In The Day I Emailed Jesus, author Norman Moss takes us on an
uplifting and thought-provoking journey seeking truth and
enlightenment regarding the Christian religion and the myths,
mysteries, and truths surrounding it. To aid him in his quest, he
posed 22 searching and profound questions to Jesus. A sample of
questions: Is there a God and a heaven? Can humans trust religious
leaders? Does God answer prayers? Does each of us have a
preordained destiny? Does the Holy Grail exist, and what is it?
While some of Jesus's emails may be contentious and highly
controversial to some established religious organisations, The Day
I Emailed Jesus introduces a unique opportunity for humankind to
become enlightened beings in preparation for the transition from
the old world to the new world in Christ. These words of wisdom and
truth can act as a beacon of light along the path of individual
enlightenment-and ultimately, it is a promise of the gift of
participation in God's heaven on the earth to come.
A mysterious disease sweeps across America, rendering men impotent,
and it affects almost the entire population. It arouses fears that
it will spell the end of the American nation, and even, if it
travels around the world, of the human race.. A medical scientist
struggling to find a cure gets involved in no-holds-barred
competition among scientific institutes. A newspaper reporter
following the story is one of the few men not affected, and he
finds himself s a unique object of desire among women. The
situation puts a question mark over the meaning of relationships,
sex and love. Comedy and drama ensue, as both men find themselves
involved in intrigue, skulduggery and scientific and sexual
politics.
A group of people assemble at a think tank for a psychological
experiment. They will participate in an international crisis game,
run on standard lines, that is, each person will play a member of a
national government. In this one, however, each individual tries to
assume the total identity of the figure he or she is playing, aided
by psychoanalysis and mind-affecting pills. The situation is played
out dramatically and the game raises issues of individuals' real
identities, with some transforming experiences
Nineteen Weeks is Norman Moss's riveting account of FDR, Churchill,
and the extraordinary decisions made in 1940 that set the stage for
America's interventionist role in world affairs. The weeks between
May and September 1940 saw Hitler's stunning conquest of France,
Britain's desperate struggle against the threat of invasion and
conquest, and a passionate debate in the United States over the
proper response to these events. Roosevelt's appeals to his
countrymen to offer support to Europe were met with opposition from
factions that wanted to maintain America's distance. When the tide
of popular opinion turned from isolationism, the order of world
power was altered forever.
As Moss shows, the "special relationship" between Britain and
America began in that brief, crucial period, setting the tenor of
future American foreign policy. His lucid history offers a
fascinating window on current world events.
