Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.
In September 2009, the format of the written Radiology FRCR Part 2A
examinations changed. The previous negatively-marked true-false
MCQs have become obsolete, replaced by 'single best answer'
(SBA)questions, with candidates selecting 1 of 5 options, without
negative marking. The author team have themselves recently
successfully sat the FRCR exam, and have prior experience in the
SBA format, making them ideally suited to write such a book, and
have produced an excellent revision guide for the new format exam.
There are 750 stem questions covering all 6 modules, including a
separate section with a 75 questions-per-module 'mock' examination
which readers can use to test themselves against the clock, under
examination conditions, to hone their technique. The questions have
been extensively researched and cross-checked, with relevant topics
being drawn from major radiology textbooks, as well as current
radiological journals such as Clinical Radiology and Radiographics.
Answers are given with detailed explanations and references are
provided, which can also be used for further reading as
appropriate. As a bonus the authors pass on their own proven exam
tips and techniques. Key Points - Authors recently sat exams
themselves - Over 700 questions
Basic Approach For students taking courses in educational
administration and leadership. An authoritative and timely
examination of organizational behavior and how leaders can create
effective school cultures. Well-established as a standard textbook
in the preparation of effective and thoughtful school
administrators, Organizational Behavior in Education continues its
tradition of offering students of educational administration the
most current thinking and the most in-depth exploration of
organizational leadership as it relates to decision-making,
organizational change, managing conflict, and motivating others. As
readers are challenged to develop and analyze the successful
implementation of school reform, they gain a professional
understanding of the organizational theory and research that are
the bedrock of modern practice. The thoroughly revised tenth
edition of Organizational Behavior in Education updates the
research and theory behind organizational effectiveness in schools
as it pertains to change, leadership, and new issues in school
reform including comprehensive school reform models, charter
schools, and school vouchers. This new material contains current
emerging developments in the fast-paced world of contemporary
school reform and keeps students abreast of emerging trends.
For generations, conventional wisdom stated that you could never
sell a book with 'penis' in the title - until Quirk's "Penis Pokey"
shattered all of the rules, racking up 100,000 in net sales in just
18 months. In this same tradition comes "How to Live with a Huge
Penis" - a gift every man will cherish, regardless of whether or
not he actually needs it. Frankly, it's enough for someone to think
he needs it. This hilarious self-help parody is full of
compassionate advice for men afflicted with Oversized Male
Genitalia (OMG).Far too often, these men are banished to the
fringes of society, victims of their own freakish length and girth.
But Dr. Richard Jacob and Rev. Owen Thomas are here with a message
of tolerance and hope, along with hilarious advice on 'coming out'
to your family, sharing your assets with a partner, and avoiding
injury in the workplace. Complete with a daily affirmations journal
and inspiring quotes from leading self-help experts, "How to Live
with a Huge Penis" will send an uplifting message to men around the
world.
The Confederate States adopted their Permanent Constitution on
March 11, 1861. The original document consisted of five vellum
sheest pasted together to form a scroll over twelve feet long. The
original document, along with many other documents of the
Confederacy, was found at a train station in 1865 by a war-time
correspondent, Felix DeFontaine. In 1883, he sold the manuscript to
Mrs. George Wymberley Jones DeRenne. In 1939, the DeRenne family
sold the document to the University of Georgia, where it now
resides.
Covering a wide area of the London and Hampshire basins, the London
Clay has been famous for over two hundred years as one of the
richest Eocene strata in the country. In this work, first published
between 1849 and 1858, Fellows of the Royal Society Richard Owen
(1804-92) and Thomas Bell (1792-1880) describe their findings from
among the reptilian fossils found there. The book is divided into
four parts, covering chelonian, crocodilian, lacertilian and
ophidian fossils, and includes an extensive section of detailed
illustrations. Using his characteristic 'bone to bone' method and
an emphasis on taxonomy, Owen draws some significant conclusions;
he shows that some of Cuvier's classifications were wrongly
extended to marine turtles, and adds to the evidence for an Eocene
period much warmer than the present. The work is a fascinating
example of pre-Darwinian palaeontology by two scientists later much
involved in the evolutionary controversy.
Alongside burgeoning global business, which asserts its legality,
ethics and social responsibility, there exists a dark side of
shadow trades manifesting various shades of legitimacy. Not only do
the latter's corrupt practices, dubious supply chains and other
illicit operations run in tandem with global business, these
borderless trades intersect with economic structures and contribute
to systems adopted by corporations, endorsed by neoliberal
capitalism, that are often condoned by governments and unwittingly
sustained by consumers. In a very real sense, all of us may be
implicated in shadow trades through our work, consumption and
citizenship. Even before we can begin to confront and constrain
shadow trades, their business models first need to be identified
and analysed in all their networked complexity, interconnectivity
with global business and embeddedness within the world economy.
Numerous hard questions need to be raised around enabling
circumstances and responsibilities of stakeholders, as well as the
winners and losers resulting from business globalisation and
socio-economic inequities within and between countries. Providing
background, evidence and analysis on select exemplars of shadow
trades, this book provides graduate students of business, plus
scholars in the social sciences, together with practitioners and
policymakers, consumer groups and civil society, with an
indispensable resource for critical engagement. Only through
knowledge gained by research and advocacy for transparency can we
begin to shed light on this dark side of global business, enabling
all of us to grapple with activism against and collaborative action
towards undermining all shadow trades. Amos Owen Thomas was a
