This edited volume presents a collection of lessons learned with,
and research conducted on, OpenStreetMap, the goal being to promote
the project's integration. The respective chapters address a)
state-of-the-art and cutting-edge approaches to data quality
analysis in OpenStreetMap, b) investigations on understanding
OpenStreetMap contributors and the nature of their contributions,
c) identifying patterns of contributions and contributors, d)
applications of OpenStreetMap in different domains, e) mining
value-added knowledge and information from OpenStreetMap, f)
limitations in the analysis OpenStreetMap data, and g) integrating
OpenStreetMap with commercial and non-commercial datasets. The book
offers an ideal opportunity to present and disseminate a number of
cutting-edge developments and applications in the field of
geography, spatial statistics, GIS, social science, and
cartography.

fought during WWII. It follows each unit as it was raised and then
where it fought. Within each of the various battles covered, the
book focuses specifically on each Waffen-SS soldier that was
awarded the Knights Cross to the Iron Cross (and higher grades
where applicable). This volume covers the period January to May
1944 and features 45 Knight's Cross, 7 Oakleaves, 3 Swords and the
first Diamonds awardees. It was written with the help of surviving
Knight's Cross holders and Waffen-SS soldiers that fought alongside
them. Original maps will help the reader see the significance of
each battle and the part played by the various Waffen-SS Knight's
Cross awardees. This fourth volume contains a foreword by

The 3. Kompanie of the 1st Panzergrenadier Regiment, 1st SS Panzer
Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler were formed in the summer of
1933. This work looks briefly at their pre-war activities as part
of Hitler's showpiece protection squad. The main focus is upon the
3. Kompanie's military actions between 1939-1945 and details the
various battles that they took part in, which covered nearly every
major campaign of the German Army. This work has been compiled with
the help of former soldiers of the 3. Kompanie and the 1st SS
Panzer Division, backed up with various other sources. It contains
twelve original maps and seventy-five photographs, thirty-five of
these are previously unpublished. In addition to detailing the 3.
Kompanie's actions between 1933-1945, this work also contains
biographies on the various Kompanie Commanders, where information
is available, and also biographies on the Battalion, Regimental and
