Most aquatic ecosystems have variable water levels. These water-level fluctuations (WLF) have multiple effects on the organisms above and below the waterline. Natural WLF patterns in lakes guarantee both productivity and biodiversity, while untimely floods and droughts may have negative effects. Human impacts on WLF have led to a stabilization of the water levels of many lakes by hydraulic regulation, untimely drawdown due to water use, or floods due to water release from hydropower plants in the catchments.

This book provides a first review in this field. It presents selected papers on the ecological effects of WLF in lakes, resulting from a workshop at the University of Konstanz in winter 2005. Issues addressed here include the extent of WLF, and analyses of their effects on different groups of biota from microorganisms to vertebrates. Applied issues include recommendations for the hydrological management of regulated lakes to reduce negative impacts, and a conceptual framework is delivered by an extension of the floodpulse concept for lakes. Die folgende Untersuchung beschaftigt sich mit den Grundfragen der Behandlung von immateriellen Gutern im internationalen Privatrecht mit dem Schwerpunkt auf den sogenannten formlosen Immaterialguterrechten. Zunachst wird eine Einfuhrung in die Arten der formlichen wie der formlosen Immaterialguterrechte, deren Inhalt, Entstehung und Schutzwirkungen gegeben, weil sich ihre Besonderheiten im Hinblick auf das Kollisionsrecht und ihre verfahrensrechtliche Behandlung ohne ein gewisses Verstandnis fur das Sachrecht schwer verstehen lassen. Dabei wird auch eine Abgrenzung der formlichen von den formlosen Immaterialguterrechten vorgenommen. Danach wird zunachst das Kollisionsrecht der formlichen Immaterialguterrechte dargestellt, weil in diesem Bereich viele Probleme bereits gelost bzw. diskutiert wurden. Im Anschluss soll auf das Kollisionsrecht der formlosen Immaterialguterrechte eingegangen werden. Dabei wird nach Quellen zunachst im nationalen Recht, danach im internationalen Recht und schliesslich im europaischen Recht gesucht. Schwerpunktmassig wird die kollisionsrechtliche Problematik ihren Ausgangspunkt in der Darstellung der wesentlichen Aspekte des Schutzlandprinzips als der tragenden Anknupfungsregel im Immaterialguterrecht behandelt, das aus dem Territorialitatsprinzip abgeleitet wird. Diesem wird das Prinzip des Ursprungslandprinzips gegenubergestellt, das Ausfluss des Universalitatsprinzips ist. Nach der Darstellung der Ergebnisse wird im Ansch
