This monograph presents new theories and methods for fixed-time
cooperative control of multi-agent systems. Fundamental concepts of
fixed-time stability and stabilization are introduced with
insightful understanding. This book presents solutions for several
problems of fixed-time cooperative control using systematic design
methods. The book compares fixed-time cooperative control with
asymptotic cooperative control, demonstrating how the former can
achieve better closed-loop performance and disturbance rejection
properties. It also discusses the differences from finite-time
control, and shows how fixed-time cooperative control can produce
the faster rate of convergence and provide an explicit estimate of
the settling time independent of initial conditions. This monograph
presents multiple applications of fixed-time control schemes,
including to distributed optimization of multi-agent systems,
making it useful to students, researchers and engineers alike.
This book reports on the latest advances in the study of Networked
Control Systems (NCSs). It highlights novel research concepts on
NCSs; the analysis and synthesis of NCSs with special attention to
their networked character; self- and event-triggered communication
schemes for conserving limited network resources; and communication
and control co-design for improving the efficiency of NCSs. The
book will be of interest to university researchers, control and
network engineers, and graduate students in the control
engineering, communication and network sciences interested in
learning the core principles, methods, algorithms and applications
of NCSs.
This book presents new techniques and methods for distributed
control and optimization of networked microgrids. Distributed
consensus issues under network-based and event-triggered mechanisms
are first addressed in a multi-agent system framework, which can
explicitly characterize the relationship between communication
resources and the control performance. Then, considering the
effects of network uncertainties, multi-agent system-based
distributed schemes are tailored to solve the fundamental issues of
networked microgrids such as distributed frequency regulation,
voltage regulation, active power sharing/load sharing, and energy
management. The monograph will contribute to stimulating extensive
interest of researchers in electrical and control fields.

Offshore platforms are widely used to explore, drill, produce,
store and transport ocean resources, and are usually subjected to
environmental loading, which can lead to deck facility failure and
platform fatigue failure, inefficient operation and even crew
discomfort. In order to ensure the reliability and safety of
offshore platforms, it is important to explore effective ways of
suppressing the vibration of offshore platforms. This book provides
a brief overview of passive, semi-active and active control schemes
to deal with vibration of offshore platforms. It then
comprehensively and systematically discusses the recent advances in
active systems with optimal, sliding model, delayed feedback and
network-based control. Intended for readers interested in vibration
control and ocean engineering, it is particularly useful for
researchers, engineers, and graduate students in the fields of
system and control community, vibration control, ocean engineering,
as well as electrical and electronic engineering.
