This book discusses the philosophical work of Décio Krause. Non-individuality, as a new metaphysical category, was thought to be strongly supported by quantum mechanics. No one did more to promote this idea than the Brazilian philosopher Décio Krause, whose works on the metaphysics and logic of non-individuality are now widely regarded as part of the consolidated literature on the subject. Aus diesen zu Beginn der Versicherungsperiode eingezahlten Versicherungsprii mien zahlt das VU sukzessive im Laufe der Versicherungsperiode die Verwaltungs kosten und die anfallenden Schadenaufwendungen. Durch diese Zeitdifferenz der Einzahlung vor den Auszahlungen sammeln VU sogenanntes versicherungstechni 3 4 sches Fremdkapital an, . Die vorliegende Darstellung des Ferromagnetismus geht historisch zuruck auf eine Reihe von Vortragen, welche der eine der Verfasser im Winter 1934/35 auf Veranlassung des Ausseninstituts der Technischen Hochschule Berlin vor einem zum grossten Teil aus Technikern bestehenden Horerkreis hielt. In diesen Vortragen wurde gezeigt, dass viele scheinbar zusammenhanglose Eigenschaften ferromagnetischer Korper verstandlich werden durch den Zusammenhang zwischen Spannung, Magnetostriktion und Magnetisierungsrichtung, wie er bei "Nickel unter Zug" in besonders reiner Form der theoretischen und experimen tellen Forschung zuganglich ist. In der Zwischenzeit ist unsere Kenntnis von der Magnetisierung und ihren Begleiterscheinungen durch zahlreiche Arbeiten gefordert worden. Die in jenen Vortragen haufig nur angedeuteten Gesichtspunkte haben sich quantitativ verscharfen und an zahlreichen Beobachtungen bestatigen lassen. Die Arbeiten zur Erforschung des Ferromagnetismus lassen sich nach ihren Zielen in zwei grosse Gruppen unterteilen, von denen die eine eine Erklarung fur das Auftreten des Ferromagnetismus uberhaupt anstrebt, wahrend die andere Gruppe ihn als vorhanden hinnimmt und nach' seinen speziellen Erscheinungs formen fragt. Diese Unterteilung kommt auch in dem vorliegenden Buche zum Ausdruck."

Am 29. und 30. Oktober 1937 fand auf meine Veranlassung im hiesigen Physikalischen Institut ein Kolloquium iiber Probleme der Magnetisierungskurve statt, bei welch em die in diesem Buch zusammen gefaBten Vortdige gehalten wurden. Zunachst konnten natiirlich leb hafte Zweifel dariiber bestehen, ob ein so eng umgrenztes Thema als ausreichende Unterlage fiir eine Tagung anzusehen ist. Durch den iiberraschend starken Besuch dieser Sondertagung (etwa 80 auswartige Teilnehmer) und die Lebhaftigkeit der Diskussionen innerhalb und auBerhalb des Horsaales wurden solche Zweifel vollig widerlegt. Der Ferromagnetismus ist ein besonders lehrreiches Beispiel eines Spezial gebietes, welches erst einer intensiven Zusammenarbeit zwischen den verschiedensten Disziplinen, insbesondere der theoretischen und ex perimentellen Physik, Elektrotechnik und Metallkunde, seine fruchtbare Entwicklung verdankt. Dementsprechend erhielt die Tagung ihr be sonderes Geprage dadurch, daB sie Vertreter dieser verschiedenen Fachrichtungen zusammenfiihrte und in Vortragen und Diskussionen zu Wort kommen lieB. Es sei mir gestattet, auch an dieser Stelle allen Teilnehmern der Tagung und insbesondere den Vortragenden meinen lebhaften Dank dafiir auszusprechen, daB sie durch ihre Mitarbeit dem magnetischen Kolloquium einen guten Erfolg gesichert haben.
