Jennifer Browne; Photographs by Tanya R Loewen

Caring for a baby or small child with food sensitivities is never fun especially if you have no idea what the culprit is. Meet Jennifer and Tanya: two modern mamas with a combined seven children and twenty-five years' worth of experience in navigating the problem of what to feed a baby with an uncooperative digestive tract. Written in frank, humorous language displaying a boisterous passion for real food, this book schools readers on what some common food offenders are, why food sensitivities are more prevalent now than in the past, secrets to assembling the perfect pantry, and how to cook one meal that will nourish anyone from six months to sixty years with simple, wholesome ingredients. Here are fifty plant-based, gluten-free, easily digestible recipes that are not only nutritious, delicious, and kind to your little one's gut, but are also appropriate for the entire family. There are even a handful of natural food remedies for teething pain, fevers, cold and flu, and more. From yam medallions to strawberry-chia spread, carrot-ginger swirl pancakes to chamomile teething treats, Baby Nosh will simplify mealtimes and help your baby or toddler thrive! Skyhorse Publishing, along with our Good Books and Arcade imprints, is proud to publish a broad range of cookbooks, including books on juicing, grilling, baking, frying, home brewing and winemaking, slow cookers, and cast iron cooking. We've been successful with books on gluten-free cooking, vegetarian and vegan cooking, paleo, raw foods, and more. Our list includes French cooking, Swedish cooking, Austrian and German cooking, Cajun cooking, as well as books on jerky, canning and preserving, peanut butter, meatballs, oil and vinegar, bone broth, and more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

The classical fields are the real, rational, complex and p-adic numbers. Each of these fields comprises several intimately interwoven algebraical and topological structures. This comprehensive volume analyzes the interaction and interdependencies of these different aspects. The real and rational numbers are examined additionally with respect to their orderings, and these fields are compared to their non-standard counterparts. Typical substructures and quotients, relevant automorphism groups and many counterexamples are described. Also discussed are completion procedures of chains and of ordered and topological groups, with applications to classical fields. The p-adic numbers are placed in the context of general topological fields: absolute values, valuations and the corresponding topologies are studied, and the classification of all locally compact fields and skew fields is presented. Exercises are provided with hints and solutions at the end of the book. An appendix reviews ordinals and cardinals, duality theory of locally compact Abelian groups and various constructions of fields.

God in the Rainforest (Paperback): Henry R. Loewen God in the Rainforest (Paperback)
Henry R. Loewen

GOD IN THE RAINFOREST is a fascinating insight into the real life experiences of the Henry Loewen family who gave up the comfort and security of rural Canada in order to pursue mission work among the indigenous people of Brazil. This very personal account sets out, in fascinating detail, the tremendous challenges that such a move involves. Language barriers, hostile government officials, the opposition of other religious leaders, and even death, seemed to raise in surmountable odds against their efforts. And yet, these were difficulties that the Loewens either worked hard to deal with and overcome or, where changes was ultimately not possible, quietly and prayerfully accepted the results. difficulties that the Loewen family faced in the isolation of river life in the jungles in Brasil. It is a testament to the remarkable accomplishments that the people from very ordinary backgrounds can achieve when they place their faith and their lives in the hands of God. - Vic Toews, Member of Parliament for Provencher.
