Ramon Maria del Valle-Inclan (1866-1936). Espana. Formo parte del Modernismo y estuvo cercano a la Generacion del 98. Era hijo del escritor liberal Ramon del Valle-Inclan Bermudez de Castro. Estudio en el Instituto de Pontevedra hasta 1885, y despues estudio Derecho en la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela y en 1888 se matriculo en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios. En 1890, tras la muerte de su padre, abandono la universidad, se fue a Madrid y colaboro en periodicos como El Globo. En 1892, Valle-Inclan viajo a Mexico. Alli escribio en los diarios El Veracruzano Libre, y El Universal. De regreso a Espana en 1893, vivio en Pontevedra. Hacia 1896 volvio a Madrid y acudio a varias tertulias, en las que conocio a Gomez Carrillo, Pio y Ricardo Baroja, Azorin, Benavente, Gonzalez Blanco, Villaespesa, Mariano Miguel de Val etc. Sus Sonatas se publicaron a partir de 1902 (Sonata de otono), 1903 (Sonata de estio), 1904 (Sonata de primavera) y 1905 (Sonata de invierno). Y en 1905 publico una coleccion de cuentos con el titulo de Jardin novelesco;Historias de almas en pena, de duendes y de ladrones. Desde 1924 Valle-Inclan se opuso a la dictadura de Primo de Rivera y en 1927 participo en la fundacion de la Alianza Republicana. En 1932, el gobierno de la Republica le nombro conservador del Patrimonio Artistico Nacional y director del Museo de Aranjuez. En marzo de 1935 Valle-Inclan se marcho a Santiago de Compostela donde murio de cancer el 5 de enero de 1936.
