GC1: Rescued and Restored - Revised Translation We are not lost forever. We were not left on our own. We have a Rescuer Who will restore us to right relationships. Guided Conversations 1: The Story of How God Rescues and Restores His People will help local Haitian leaders and missionaries present God's plan for rescue and restoration. Its teachings are useful for both evangelism and discipleship. Guided Conversations 1 is interlinear, in Creole and English. Team written by a group of Haitian and Anglo church leaders, the text emphasizes the use of ORAL TEACHING STYLES. The book is intended to teach shepherd leaders, who then use oral presentations of this material to take people through a series of questions, discussions and readings to a point of decision. Will we benefit from the Grace of God? Will we embrace the blessing of rescue and restoration offered by God? Or will we choose instead to remain trapped in our sins? Created to be with God but separated from Him by our own sin, we now struggle to restore that lost relationship. But the efforts of humans are not adequate to the task. We are dead in our sins. All our self-directed efforts are fruitless. We cannot raise ourselves from death. Are we therefore lost forever? Have we been left on our own to fight a hopeless battle against overwhelming forces of darkness? Are we doomed to despair? NO. We have a magnificent hope: Thanks be to God Himself, we can share in the victory of Jesus Christ. We can be at peace in our neighborhoods, in our homes and in our hearts. By understanding better the character of God, we can hope for better tomorrows. When we grasp how wide and deep is the love God has for His people and His creation, we can trust Him to carry us through our troubles. Guided Conversations 1 has three parts. First, a section focused on the proper use of oral teaching techniques. Second, a series of seven lessons starting with our need for God, then helping us understand His plan for rescue and restoration, and finally leading us to the point of decision. Third is a presentation of the Bible verses cited in the text. May God bless you in your ministries with Haitians Also available in electronic and audio formats.

Beni swa Letenel.Praise the Lord. Sometimes we need to hear a calm voice. Nighttime noises and daytime surprises can cause anytime tears and fears. We need a word of comfort. Sometimes, though, God seems far away, even inaccessible, because He is "transcendent." God is "beyond" all that exists. Yet the Bible tells us He is always close at hand, a powerful friend. He is "immanent," an ever present help in times of trouble. Using gentle poetry, Scripture paraphrases and vibrant illustrations, "BYEN LWEN" is a comforting read, exploring this near-but-far aspect of God. Readers and listeners old and young will be reminded that God delights in His people. He protects us with His power. He comforts us with His presence. He watches out for us when we are out on a limb, walking through puddles and going to bed. We can be encouraged by the words of this book to understand we are safe because God is transcendent yet involved, distant yet immanent. Byen Lwen, Poutan Toujou Avek Ou. Praise the Lord.
