The traditional use of paint and sign writing has been replaced
over the years with more and more detail being applied to vehicles
by pre-printed vinyls. This varies from essential information for
passengers such as route branding or adverts, to elements of a
company’s actual livery. It is also a cheaper option when
replacing damaged panels and can negate the need to take a bus or
coach off the road for a full repaint. Vinyls also mean that fleet
names and information about contactless payments, WiFi and
attractions along key routes can be bold, prominent and
eye-catching. In this book, Richard Walter’s photographs
illustrate the growth in the use of vinyls over the last few years,
with examples of applications for special events as well as
everyday use.

. to England, without laying in a large quantity both of provisions
and naval stores for his use during the voyage. The procuring this
supply was attended with much perplexity; for there were people at
Canton who had undertaken to surniih him with biscuit, and whatever
else he wanted; and nis linguist, towards the middle of September,
had assured him from day to day, that all w DEGREESs ready, and
would be sent on board him immediately. But a fortnight being
elapsed, and nothing brought, the Commodore lent to Canton, to
enquire more particularly into the reasons of this difappointment:
and he had soon the vexation to be informed, that the whole was an
illusion; that no order had been procured from the viceroy, to
furnish him with his sea stores, as had been pretended; that there
was no biscuit baked, nor any one of the articles in readiness,
which had been promised him, nor did it appear that the contractors
had taken the least step to comply with their agreement. This was
most difagreeable news, and made it suspected, that the surnishing
the Centurion for her return to Great Britain might prove a more
troublesome matter than had been hitherto imagined, especially too,
as the month of September was nearly ended, without Mr Anson's
having received any message fronAhe viceroy of Canton. And here,
perhaps it might be expected, that a satisfactory account should be
given of the motives of the Chinese for this faithltss procedure.
However, as I have already, in a former chapter, made some kind of
conjectures about a similar event, I shall not repeat them again in
this place; but shall content myseif with observing, that, after
all, it may perhaps be impossible for an European, ' aorant of the
customs and manners of...

This book addresses the emerging field of genderqueer or non-binary
genders - that is, individuals who do not identify as male or
female. It considers theoretical, research, practice, and activist
perspectives; and outlines a basis for good practice when working
with non-binary individuals. The first section provides an overview
of historical, legal and academic aspects of this phenomenon. The
second section explores how psychotherapeutic, psychological and
psychiatric theory and practice are adapting to a non-binary model
of gender, and the third section considers the body related
aspects, from endocrinology to surgery. This work will appeal to a
wide readership, from practitioners working with non-binary
individuals - including psychologists, surgeons, social workers,
nurses, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, psychotherapists and
counselors, lawyers, and healthcare workers - to researchers
interested in the study of gender identities, to students and
gender activists.

Dublin Bus was formed back in February 1987 when services were
split out of Coras Iompair Eireann (CIE) and has, in time, become a
modern and forward-thinking bus operator. During July 2018, plans
were revealed for a complete overhaul of Dublin's bus services. The
changes planned by the National Transport Authority have led to a
renumbering of key routes and changes and improvements to
frequencies. As a result Dublin Bus has lost some of its depots and
routes to the Go-Ahead group, who have their own livery and created
some new routes. In a tour of this fascinating and colourful city,
Richard Walter illustrates the transformation of Dublin bus
services in the twenty-first century, with photographs taken before
and after the changes showing the variety of buses used. Also
included are some of the interesting open- and closed-top vehicles
that have provided tours ranging from sightseeing to afternoon teas
and ghostly goings on.
This series of 5 book/CD packs is an introduction to art song in
English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Each volume has a
different song list, and includes 30 selections in appropriate

chosen opera arias, an oratorio aria, and an operetta aria by
Gilbert & Sullivan.
Advertising on public transport in the UK has been common practice
since the early days of the horse-drawn bus. Vehicle sides were a
good means of advertisers' products being seen across cities and
towns and brought in additional income to operators. The
traditional side and rear ads became more ambitious over the years
- not just featuring commercial products but bus company
promotional material too. In the 1960s the use of all-over
advertising buses became popular. Traditionally these were
hand-painted with incredible detail and many are now considered to
be mini works of art. In more recent years, painting by hand has
been replaced by wrapped vinyls and some campaigns last only a
matter of weeks. There have also been experiments with illuminated
and digital scrolling messages. In this colourful photographic
journey, Richard Walter provides a glimpse of some of the most
memorable all-over adverts in Edinburgh, London and a variety of
other locations throughout the UK and Ireland, featuring some of
the more bizarre examples that maybe seemed like a good idea at the
time.

The design of buses and coaches is constantly changing as new
technology is developed and environmentally friendly and
emission-related legislation evolves. In addition to more
traditional vehicles, there are now choices between
hydrogen-powered hydroliners, all-electrics, vehicles with electric
driving mirrors and fully autonomous buses. In this extremely
colourful and diverse book, Richard Walter takes you on a
photo-filled trip round the world to explore how buses and coaches
are changing and how older vehicles have adapted to meet the
demands of operators. Jump on board to explore how things are
evolving in recent years from the wilds of the Western Isles and
the big UK cities like London, York, Edinburgh, Newcastle and
Glasgow to exotic locations such as pink-sanded Bermuda, sunny
Tenerife, busy Hong Kong and spectacular New York. The book also
looks at some of the many demonstrators that operators have
evaluated and how new products have been launched at events such as
the annual UK Coach Rally in Blackpool and the Euro Bus Expo.
(Vocal Collection). With a graceful gift for lyrical vocal writing,
English composer Roger Quilter (1877-1953) created a rich body of
art songs. Very few composers working in English have matched his
achievement of a living body of beloved, relevant, literate
repertoire. The strong melodies and natural phrasing make his
compositions perfect literature for the progressing singer. There
has never before this publication been a significant collection of
Quilter. This new edition conveniently and economically collects 55
songs, all in clear, new music engravings and in two keys (with
original keys noted). Many of the songs have never been published
in transposition before this edition. This collection features a
biography of the composer and notes on the songs. 224 pages, sewn
binding.
