Seymour, a shy young man working for a tyrannical florist, finds a vehicle for private and public success in the form of a maneating plant from outer space. The carniverous shrub helps him to become a celebrity, gets rid of his boss and clears the way for him to woo the girl of his dreams. However, its cannibalistic eating habits become insatiable and it's up to Seymour to cut it down to size. This comedy musical is based on the stage version of the cult movie, and features a memorable cameo performance from Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist.
As a baby, Tommy (Eric Idle) was accidentally left behind at a wild London party by his very wealthy family, to be raised by a very poor Asian family. He grows up to find that not only is he the heir to the Duke of Bournemouth, but that his American cousin Henry (Rick Moranis) has inherited everything. As if that wasn't bad enough his real mother (Barbara Hershey) unwittingly tries to seduce him, while his true love Kitty (Catherine Zeta Jones) only wants to marry Henry.
The trials and tribulations of family life, as seen through the eyes of three generations. Gil Buckman (Steve Martin) is a father rather too determined to give his kids the love and care which had been withheld from him as a child. Meanwhile, his Yuppie brother-in-law Nathan (Rick Moranis) is preparing his 3-year-old daughter for life in the fast lane by an accelerated learning programme which causes her to miss out on the more basic joys of childhood. Gil's sister Helen (Dianne Wiest), a single parent, struggles to control her uncommunicative son and wild daughter, while black sheep of the family Larry (Tom Hulce) returns to sponge off his father Frank (Jason Robards) in order to pay off gambling debts.
In this Disney-animated, coming-of-age story, Kenai (voiced by Joaquin Pheonix) is an impulsive young Native-American boy who is magically transformed into a bear by his brother when their father is killed by a mother bear protecting her cubs. Forced to see the world through a bear's eyes, Kenai sets out on a quest to find the mountain where the light touches the earth and regain his human form; and learns alot about compassion on his journey.
