It's been two years since Lisa first left her home planet to help

finds her learning more about the Savage Rain. She visits a world
where no humans are living, and another where women rule due to
their fear of raiders from a planet known only as Barbaree. Lisa
knows that if her work is to continue, she has to face down these
raiders. That means going to war. Is she ready to fight for what
she believes in? Can she defeat the raiders while still showing

and more things to learn, Lisa says. Will she learn enough to

The Blue Pistol and his allies have freed a few dukedoms in the
Settled Domains from the power of the Slavers Guild. Those gains
must be protected, & more people must be freed from slavery.
Two dukedoms are targeted to advance the cause: Black Rapids &
Saint's Hope. One will see an attempt at rebellion; the other, an
attack by lies and hard truths. Can the Blue Pistol liberate more
land from control by the Guild? Can more nobles be trusted to see
the value in ending slavery? Can the common people of the Domains
be trusted to take the reigns of power?

The Blue Pistol is certain that the Slavers Guild will expect more
attacks in his effort to end slavery in the Settled Domains. To
that end, the Blue Pistol decides to catch the Guild off-guard.
"We'll give them a year of calm, then hit them hard." This means
new battles and new allies. Several young women will enlist, to
protect themselves as much to support the cause of freedom. New
dukedoms will be in the Blue Pistol's sights, and more pressure
will be put on his spy within the Slaver's Guild. How hard will the
Blue Pistol's blows be? When will his war against slavery end?
"Kansas, 1874" recounts the interesting and important events of
that tumultous year. 1874 in the Sunflower State was a time of the
Wild West and of Indian attacks, but also of a rising poet and
debates on temperance. It was the year the Mennonites first
arrived, and when Abilene's T. C. Henry began to promote winter
wheat as a good crop for Kansas farmers. Few other years in state
history show Kansas in its transition from part of the frontier to
its own identity so clearly.
As railroads crossed 1860s Kansas, laws were passed that would
allow only one railroad to lay track across Indian Territory south
to Texas. Three railroads, the Missouri River, Fort Scott &
Gulf; the Leavenworth, Lawrence & Galveston; and the Missouri,
Kansas & Texas, raced to be first and to become a national
line. The Race to Indian Territory recounts the story from early
Kansas history. It tells of those important and interesting men
involved in the race and the towns the tracks came to. It separates
fact from legend, and reveals the race's surprising outcome.

"With the events in Saint's Hope and Black Rapids last year, the
Slavers Guild might want to go on the offensive against the Blue
Pistol. It would be better to keep them distracted." That's why
Bart Cochran wants to shift the war of the Blue Pistol against the
Slavers Guild in the new year. He suggests targeting a dukedom
farther from the gains of previous years. His scheme will involve
convincing a Guild Master that the rivalry between the Dukedoms of
Hilltown and Low Falls is on the verge of erupting into war. His
other suggestion is to have their allies in Freeman's Hold build
bombs, disguised as letter boxes, that will be sent to every Duke
in the Settled Domains that isn't on the Blue Pistol's side. What
happens to slavery in the Domains when these schemes explode?
This book explores the tensions that have arisen in the diaspora as
a result of large numbers of Russian migrants entering established
overseas parishes following the collapse of the Soviet Union. These
tensions, made more fervent by the increasing role of the Church as
part of the expression of Russian identity and by the Church's
entry into the global 'culture wars', carry with them alternative
views of a range of key issues - cosmopolitanism versus
reservation, liberalism versus conservatism and ecumenism versus
dogmatism. The book focuses on particular disputes, discusses the
broader debates and examines the wider context of how the Russian
Orthodox Church is evolving overall.
