This book is a tribute to those 142 soldiers from the Frankford
neighborhood of Philadelphia who died in service to their country
from the Civil war up to the present day. Each soldier is profiled
with birth and death dates, biographical details and military
assignments. There are some photographs. The greatest number, over
80, died in the Civil War. This is a snapshot of the impact of that
conflict on a typical small town of the times. During this period,
Frankford had only been a part of the City of Philadelphia for less
than 10 years. Also included are contemporary profiles of 47
Veterans living in Frankford today as well as the Honor Roll of
over 300 Frankford Veterans who could be identified by name and
branch.
