This innovative book analyses the geographical patterns in foreign
direct investment flows by combining elements from the theory of
international production and the theory of economic geography. It
develops a model for explaining why foreign direct investment is
attracted to certain locations. The book examines foreign direct
investment from a spatial perspective and considers how knowledge,
regional synergies, economic integration, corporate strategies and
networking affect patterns of investment. Using a model, Robert
Morsink derives sets of determinants for different foreign direct
investment patterns of multinationals and evaluates the corporate
strategy behind these flows. First, he analyses investment flows
within the European Union. Then, he goes into investments
originating from the United States, Japan, Germany and the
Netherlands and destined for Western Europe, South and Southeast
Asia and North and South America. These analyses enable him to make
suggestions for government policy at both the national and
international level to attract foreign investment. Foreign Direct
Investment and Corporate Networking will be of interest to
economists working in the areas of international trade and
investment, economic geographers and corporate strategy advisors as
well as to policymakers from government and non-governmental
organizations.
This book contains a study of the economics and management of
public enterprises in Pakistan. It examines their performance,
organizational behavior, relationships with other government
organizations outside of the sector, and the issues that confront
the public enterprise sector and the government.
Learn the skills to complete the full installation, configuration,
and maintenance of an enterprise class internet server, no matter
what Unix-like operating system you prefer. This book will rapidly
guide you towards real system administration, with clear
explanations along the way. After a chapter explaining the most
important Unix basics, you will start with a vanilla server as
delivered by a hosting provider and by the end of the book, you
will have a fully functional and well-secured enterprise class
internet server. You will also be equipped with the expertise
needed to keep your server secured and up to date. All
configuration examples are given for FreeBSD, Debian and CentOS, so
you are free to choose your operating system. No single blueprint
exists for an internet server, and an important part of the work of
a system administrator consists of analyzing, interpreting and
implementing specific wishes, demands and restrictions from
different departments and viewpoints within an organization.
Practical Internet Server Configuration provides the information

About thirty years ago my Christian manager, Dave Anderson was
signing up dealers for my water pollution control business. Dave
walked into the office of a Jew, Steve Tvedten and the first things
he noticed were the huge knife on Steve's belt and the sign on the
wall, "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for I am the meanest S.O.B. in the valley."
Dave took out a book he was reading that I had written but never
published entitled How to Utterly Defeat the Enemy or Have Fun
Trying. He handed it to Steve. Steve read the entire book that
night and by morning was a born again Spirit-filled Christian. A
year later Steve sent me his chronology of the events in Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John. It included thousands of Old and New Testament
references, plus many Jewish ceremonies concerning Biblical events.
An example is "The Folded Napkin" that I have included in this
book. Steve told me that if I wanted to rewrite his book and
publish it, go ahead. Thirty years later, here is my book in which
I incorporate Steve's chronology with the history of the time of
Christ along with the Aramaic meanings of many words and idioms.
Jesus and His disciples spoke Aramaic Hebrew rather than Greek or
Latin and the Aramaic meanings add an interesting understanding of
what actually occurred. The result is a very different and
interesting history of the life of Jesus, the Bread of Life that
came down from heaven to give us everlasting life and shed His
blood as a sacrifice to pay for our sins. Understanding what Jesus
meant, such as when He cursed the fig tree or folded His napkin
adds a new perspective to history and Jesus' prophecies.

The First Amendment of the Constitution clearly says, "Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof." In 1947 the United States
Supreme Court illegally passed the ruling on Separation of Church
and State, prohibiting the free exercise of religion. Since then
crime and immorality have skyrocketed at an exponential rate,
vastly overcrowding our prisons, and causing many undesirable
results. Why would our Supreme Court Justices create such
devastation to America by this well-meaning action? The answer is
simple. There are hundreds of questions about creation, God and the
Bible that Christians cannot answer and the result is that many
people believe that the Bible is mythology and God does not exist.
Therefore, it is reasonable to restrict its teaching in schools and
public places because the public is greatly deceived by such
teachings. When asked questions, many Christians are dumbfounded
and unable to answer. An example is, If God made Eve out of one of
Adam's ribs, why do men have the same number of ribs as women, with
none missing? The answer is very simple and logical, yet how many
Christians can answer? The DNA and genes in Adam did not change
when God removed one of Adam's ribs any more than they would change
if a doctor removed one of your ribs. The DNA and genes in Adam and
Eve were transferred to their children. These contained the same
number of ribs that God originally put in Adam; therefore today
both genders have the same number of ribs. This book answers
questions that nonbelievers and many other religious groups might
ask, preparing Christians to accomplish the goal that God gave
them: to go out into the world and lead as many as possible to
Jesus and eternal life.
