Crime thriller starring John Cusack, Rebecca Da Costa and Robert De
Niro. Assassin Jack (Cusack) is given a new assignment by his
ruthless boss Dragna (De Niro): he must collect a bag without
looking inside it and stay at a motel until Dragna arrives. At the
motel there are many suspicious characters who all seem to want to
get their hands on the bag and the murder count rises as Jack
protects its contents. He meets prostitute Rivka (Da Costa), who is
hiding out in his room, and is unsure whether he can trust her but
allows her to stay because she knows too much. When Dragna
eventually comes to the motel Jack learns that there is more to the
mission than he first realised...

The 'Precautionary Principle' has sparked the central controversy
over European and U.S. risk regulation. The Reality of Precaution
is the most comprehensive study to go beyond precaution as an
abstract principle and test its reality in practice. This
groundbreaking resource combines detailed case studies of a wide
array of risks to health, safety, environment and security; a broad
quantitative analysis; and cross-cutting chapters on politics, law,
and perceptions. The authors rebut the rhetoric of conflicting
European and American approaches to risk, and show that the reality
has been the selective application of precaution to particular
risks on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as a constructive
exchange of policy ideas toward 'better regulation.' The book
offers a new view of precaution, regulatory reform, comparative
analysis, and transatlantic relations.
Colin Rogers and Peter Kutnick reassess the role of social
psychology in educational practice for the primary classroom. They
offer an analysis of the ways in which the process and structure of
classroom life affect the interpersonal and academic outcomes of
schooling. Social schooling is seen to have a crucial role to play
in achieving effective teaching and meaningful learning, while
promoting other useful developments in the primary classroom. The
authors study classroom interaction and relationships and consider
how these might be structured for the best outcomes. With so much
attention being focused recently on the National Curriculum, the
authors provide a balance for the current curricula-orientated view
of teaching by improving understanding of how curricula are
implemented in the classroom. Motivation and the social development
of primary age children are covered as well as relationships and
social interaction in the classroom, gender and special educational
needs.
Why do some people always seem so happy about their lives – and others so down even when they seem to have it all? The difference is the strength that comes from thinking positively. Negative thinking wears us down, leaving us feeling powerless, as though happiness and success are only for other people. It's a bit like a disease – you can have it, you can catch it from someone else and you can even pass it on. But the longer you leave negative thoughts untreated, the worse they will make you feel. Negative thinking is powerful stuff – it can even make you physically ill – and it will certainly make it harder for you to recover if you do become ill. Fortunately there's one thing more powerful than a negative thought – and that is, of course, a positive one! Don't delay happiness! John-Roger and Peter McWilliams are the experts experts at helping people to see the lighter, brighter side to life – so read on – and learn the way to positive living.
