unexpected roles that IoT and AI technologies played during the
recent COVID-19 global pandemic. The book discusses the how
existing and new state-of-the art technology has been and can be
applied for global health crises in a multitude of ways. The
chapters in Pandemic Detection and Analysis through Smart Computing
Technologies look at exciting technological solutions for virus
detection, prediction, classification, prevention, and
communication outreach. The book considers the various modes of
transmission of the virus as well as how technology has been
implemented for personalized healthcare systems and how it can be
used for future pandemics. The huge importance of social and mobile
communication and networks during the pandemic is addressed such as
in business, education, and healthcare; in research and
development; for health information and outreach; in social life;
and more. A chapter also addresses using smart computing for
forecasting the damage caused by COVID-19 using time series
analyses. This up-to-the-minute volume illuminates on the many ways
AI, IoT, machine learning, and other technologies have important
roles in the diverse challenges faced during COVID-19 and how they
can be enhanced for future pandemic situations. The volume will be
of high interest to those in different fields of computer science
and other domains as well as to data scientists, government
agencies and policymakers, doctors and healthcare professionals,
engineers, economists, and many other professionals. This book will
also be very helpful to faculty, students, and research scholars in
understanding the pre- and post-effect of this pandemic.

internet of things, and the internet of everything in a
comprehensive manner. Discusses the latest internet of things (IoT)
platform such as google cloud platform, industrial IoT, and IoT
gateways. Explains self-optimizing network like vehicular networks,
sensor networks, and drone networks. Explores security and privacy
issues including blockchain security. Covers deep learning, and
reinforcement learning for IoT applications.
This book covers all core technologies like neural networks, fuzzy
systems, and evolutionary computation and their applications in the
systems. Computationally intelligent system is a new concept for
advanced information processing. The objective of this system is to
realize a new approach for analyzing and creating flexible
information processing of sensing, learning, recognizing, and
action taking. Computational intelligent is a part of artificial
intelligence (AI) which includes the study of versatile components
to empower or encourage savvy practices in intricate and evolving
situations. The computationally intelligent system highly relies on
numerical information supplied by manufacturers unlike AI.

This book gathers selected high-quality research papers presented
at International Conference on Advanced Computing and Intelligent
Technologies (ICACIT 2021) held at NCR New Delhi, India, during
March 20-21, 2021, jointly organized by Galgotias University,
India, and Department of Information Engineering and Mathematics
Universita Di Siena, Italy. It discusses emerging topics pertaining
to advanced computing, intelligent technologies, and networks
including AI and machine learning, data mining, big data analytics,
high-performance computing network performance analysis, Internet
of things networks, wireless sensor networks, and others. The book
offers a valuable asset for researchers from both academia and
industries involved in advanced studies.
Vehicular traffic congestion and accidents remain universal issues
in today's world. Due to the continued growth in the use of
vehicles, optimizing traffic management operations is an immense
challenge. To reduce the number of traffic accidents, improve the
performance of transportation systems, enhance road safety, and
protect the environment, vehicular ad-hoc networks have been
introduced. Current developments in wireless communication,
computing paradigms, big data, and cloud computing enable the
enhancement of these networks, equipped with wireless communication
capabilities and high-performance processing tools. Cloud-Based Big
Data Analytics in Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks is a pivotal reference
source that provides vital research on cloud and data analytic
applications in intelligent transportation systems. While
highlighting topics such as location routing, accident detection,
and data warehousing, this publication addresses future challenges
in vehicular ad-hoc networks and presents viable solutions. This
book is ideally designed for researchers, computer scientists,
engineers, automobile industry professionals, IT practitioners,
academicians, and students seeking current research on cloud
computing models in vehicular networks.

- Lactam antibiotics, in particular penicillins and cephalosporins
have the annual sales of 65% of the total antibiotics market.
Therefore the annual expenditure of penicillin G acylase (PGA) is
estimated to be in the range of 10-30 million tons. PGA
immobilization preparations (both enzyme and cells) to successfully
produce 10,000 tons of total 6-aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA)
provide a novel direction to the antibiotics industries promoting a
safer and cleaner environment. In the present study, different
bacterial samples were isolated from soil of different places of
Dibrugarh and screened for biotransformation ability to produce
6-APA. Among ten of them, three gram positive bacterial samples
designated as AKDD-2, AKDD-4 and AKDD-6 showed the production of
6-APA from penicillin G. Assessment of 6-APA production after
incubation in penicillin G (2mg/ml) by three different samples
separately in free and agar immobilization state was done by HPLC
analysis. Reusability of immobilized cell was found successful up
to 14 days. The work focuses comparison of catalytic properties to
produce 6-APA of some industrially valuable soil microorganisms
entrapped in agar with the free form."
Recent advances in gene sequencing technology are now shedding
light on the complex interplay between genes that elicit phenotypic
behavior characteristic of any given organism. In order to mediate
internal and external signals, the daunting task of classifying an
organism's genes into complex signaling pathways needs to be
completed. The Handbook of Research on Computational Methodologies
in Gene Regulatory Networks focuses on methods widely used in
modeling gene networks including structure discovery, learning, and
optimization. This innovative Handbook of Research presents a
complete overview of computational intelligence approaches for
learning and optimization and how they can be used in gene
regulatory networks.
