A fresh adaptation of English literature’s first great detective novel. When Franklin Blake returns to England, he is forced to face the ghosts he fled a year ago when the Moonstone, a priceless Indian diamond, was stolen. Rachel Verinder, Franklin’s beautiful young cousin, inherited the stone from her uncle on her 18th birthday. It was always said that the stone carried a curse and the morning after her birthday party, it was missing. In the aftermath of the theft, Rachel cut off all ties with Franklin - the man she had loved. A year later and Franklin is determined to heal the rift between them. But Rachel has one condition - she won’t see him until he can tell her exactly what happened to the diamond that night. Only then can Franklin win back the love of his life.
Finale of the BBC sitcom written by and starring Miranda Hart. In the last two episodes Miranda is forced to choose between the proposals of Gary (Tom Ellis) and Mike (Bohdan Poraj) and subsequently plan a wedding. But faced with mounting pressure from her mother (Patricia Hodge) and best friend Stevie (Sarah Hadland) she might just choose to reject both of her potential suitors. Gary Barlow, Liza Tarbuck and Heather Small are amongst the guest stars.
Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West star in this BBC drama portraying the turbulent relationship between Hollywood's original A-list couple. It's 1982 and six years after their second divorce Richard Burton (West) and Elizabeth Taylor (Bonham Carter) hold a press conference to announce they are to appear together in a production of Noel Coward's 'Private Lives'. As the rehearsals begin in earnest, the couple's former antagonisms surface as Taylor's frequent lateness and general indifference to work begins to grate with Burton's more orthodox and professional approach to the stage. With the play opening to bad reviews, and his relationship with Taylor as stormy as ever, Burton feels the need to re-assess his position when he realises that the sell-out crowds believe that they are somehow witnessing art imitating life.
All episodes from the first six series of the award-winning CBBC history show. Based on the bestselling children's books and liberally splattered with guts, blood and poo, the series offers an anarchic and unconventional take on some of history's most gruesome and funny moments, with topics including the Stone Age, the Middle Ages, the Egyptians and the Romans, among others.
