One of Scott Joplin's most famous and recognizable ragtime
compositions. A good right hand reach is recommended for playing
the octave chords cleanly in this edition which presents the
original material, unsimplified. There are short biographical notes
and other historical information included.
Joplin's classic piano piece became immensely popular after its use
in the 1973 film "The Sting." It's always been a favorite, though.
The original piano version was reprinted several times after its
first appearance in 1904. Seargeant's outstanding new orchestration
requires only a Beethoven-sized orchestra and is sure to be an
enjoyment to audiences everywhere whether they are familar with
Joplin's original or not.
