The stunning 2013 TV adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's classic 1930s thriller that sees a beautiful, spoilt young woman risking her life to solve the mysterious disappearance of her travelling companion. Iris Carr is travelling across Europe by train when she unwittingly becomes embroiled in a sinister Balkan plot. Feeling disorientated after a fall, Iris is befriended by Miss Froy, an elderly English woman sharing her carriage. But when she wakes up from a few hours’ sleep, Miss Froy has vanished without trace. Harry loses everything overnight save the humble fish and chip shop he ran with his brother Spiros (Georges Corraface) before he made it big. Harry hasn't seen his brother for years but finds himself with little choice other than to reconnect with his less sophisticated sibling and to renew their heated rivalry with Hassan (George Savvides), the owner of the local Turkish kebab shop.
Brian Cox and Emilia Fox star in this comedy drama co-written and directed by János Edelényi. The film follows retired Shakespearean actor Sir Michael Gifford (Cox), who's battle with a form of Parkinson's disease has left him confined to a wheelchair at his country estate. After alienating a number of former caregivers with his prickly and quarrelsome attitude, Gifford's strong-willed daughter Sophia (Fox) forces him to accept Hungarian refugee and aspiring actress Dorottya (Coco König) as his new carer. Despite a difficult start, the pair soon begin to form a strong bond which could prove beneficial for both of them.
