The main aim of this study was to explore the trends of methodology applied in academic educational research in Bangladesh. Mixed method research approach was used to conduct this study. The institutions and educationist were selected purposively. While the research/thesis reports were selected randomly considering the decades. Document review check list and interview schedule were used as data collection tools. Through mixed methods analyses, it was found that majority researchers used quantitative research approach to conduct their study. They used teachers and students as their research population and used non probability sampling techniques. A large number of researchers used questionnaire and interview as data collection tools. Majority researchers used quantitative analyses methods and they conducted this type of analyses manually and also used table to presents their findings. Finally a representative number of researchers presented their study data to some extend related to methodology. For this reason, to improve our educational research field the mixed method research approach and the action research method might be used.

Nanoparticles have gained much attention as a promising drug delivery system due to their unique properties. Rosiglitazone maleate, an antidiabetic agent, acts as a highly selective and potent agonist for PPAR receptors in target tissues for insulin action. In spite of its high efficiency, side effects limit the clinical use. To reduce the side effects of conventional dosage form, rosiglitazone loaded nanoparticles have been formulated. Nanoparticles were formulated by gelatin and chitosan via double desolvation and ionotropic gelation technique respectively, & subjected to photon correlation spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy & encapsulation efficiency studies. These studies favorably revealed that the mean particle diameter of optimized formulation was 49 nm (gelatin) and 86 nm (chitosan) with spherical morphology. The optimized formulation demonstrated favorable in vitro prolonged release characteristics with zero order, diffusion and erosion mechanisms. Nanoparticles also showed excellent stability. Hence, the designed delivery system can be fine tuned on the depending clinical applications.

Recent studies have reported that out of 64 districts of Bangladesh, drinking water in 61 districts is contaminated by arsenic. About 30 million people are either directly or indirectly exposed to arsenic contamination with varying degrees of risk. The matters of arsenic contamination in ground water are not well conceived by the general peoples in Bangladesh. Arsenic problem in Bangladesh has a relationship with the nutritional status of the people as well as their personal and socio-economic characteristics. The book compiles a review on the causes, mechanism, trends and current status of arsenic contamination in Bangladesh. Consequences of contamination on society and human health have also been described here. A case study has been included finally on the status of fruit and vegetable consumption and health hazards of the people in arsenic affected region at Satkhira, Bangladesh.

Teacher belief is a well-researched area in the international literature. Evidence shows that teacher practice is deeply influenced by the relevant beliefs they hold. This book reflects the findings from an empirical study that focuses on teacher beliefs regarding mathematics related topics and practices. Extensive literature has constituted the theoretical framework for the study. It was conducted on secondary mathematics teachers of Bangladesh using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Mathematics teachers hold multiple and conflicting views. Simultaneously they confirm their association with instrumentalist, Platonist and constructivist views of mathematics emphasizing both teacher- and student-centered approach for learning. This suggests that teachers may be in between an alteration process of their beliefs that results in holding multifarious contending views.
