Effective leadership and organizational performance are concepts
that continue to receive widespread attention in the business
world. This book explores the importance of strategic leadership
and the value it adds to organizations. It focuses on strategies to
achieve market success and organizational performance as well as
the challenges of leading in a fluctuating market. The book looks
at recent trends in leadership development and the different styles
of leadership. It dispels existing myths about leadership and
offers an understanding of principles which will allow leaders to
be more adaptable and effective and steer businesses and
organizations into a more stable future. This book will be of
interest to researchers and students working in the field of
business, organizational communication, business management, human
resource management and business studies.
Remineralization is increasingly accepted as a viable non-invasive
approach for restoring carious teeth, at least during the earlier
stages of the caries process. According to the principles of
minimal intervention dentistry, optimal non-invasive strategies are
preferred for treatment of early enamel lesions. This study was
designed to investigate the remineralising efficacy of casein
phosphopeptide amorphous calcium phosphate on early enamel lesions
using energy dispersive x-ray analysis for quantitative assessment
and scanning electron microscope for morphological changes. It can
be inferred from the study that casein phosphopeptide amorphous
calcium phosphate paste significantly remineralises the early
enamel lesions substantially .This could be attributed to the
diffusion of calcium and phosphate minerals into the surface with
the aid of saliva as the transport medium. This book gives an
overview of how we can measure the amount of mineral loss or gain
quantitatively along with the morphological changes.
Automated Ball Indentation (ABI) is one of the most promising
miniature specimen techniques to characterize the mechanical
behaviour of the materials. Utilization of ABI technique to monitor
the mechanical properties of the structural materials used in
commercial nuclear power plants is highly appreciable, due to its
non destructive and In-situ measurement capabilities. In this book,
ABI was applied to investigate the structural integrity of various
structural component materials used in both light water and heavy
water cooled nuclear reactors. The variation of mechanical
properties in localized zones of Dissimilar weld joint (joint of SA
508-Cl 2 reactor pressure vessel nozzle and SS 304 LN pipe line
with Inconel weld)and Similar weld joint (joint of SS 304 LN pipe
lines)was examined using ABI technique. ABI technique was also
utilized to investigate the mechanical properties of SA 508 and SS
304 LN steels (which respectively serve as the structural materials
for RPV and calandria vessel) and Zr-2.5Nb alloy, which is the
pressure tube material for commercial Pressurized Heavy Water
Reactors. The analytical investigation of ABI technique for these
materials is also presented.
Microbiology as a science has expanded by leaps and bounds in the
past few decades due to advancements in sophisticated
instrumentation and recombinant DNA technology which added new
dimension and revealed the understanding of the subject at a
molecular level. This has resulted in the emergence of several
applications of this domain. This book have been complied with the
help of leading Microbiologists from India and other countries with
an objective of providing current developments in the field of
Microbiology. This book will be useful for under and postgraduate
students, academicians, researchers and laboratory personnel from
disciplines like Microbiology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Science,
Medicine, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Food Science, Environmental
Science, Industrial Microbiology and other allied Biological
Sciences.
Arthritis is the inflammation of a joint, which can include
infiltration of inflammatory cells, synovial hyperplasia, bone
erosion and new bone formation, narrowing of the joint space.
Arthritis was induced in knee joint cavity of the right hind leg by
intra-articular injection of 0.1ml of 1% carrageenan in all groups
except control group. Animals are divided into five different
groups such as Normal control, arthritis control, Standard A (MOOV)
treated group, Standard B (RUMALAYA) treated group and test drug
treated group. Catalase activity, Alkaline Phosphatase, MDA and
Uric acid were significantly (p
In the past caries diagnosis and treatment was limited to detection
and restoration of cavitated lesions. This drill and fill method
failed to detect the underlying etiologic factor. Preventive
programs should be instituted by analyzing the caries risk of the
patient and providing a customized program to suit the need of
patient. Regular monitoring and appropriate intervention are
critical for changing the oral environment from one of hostility to
one directed towards repair and stability. This book gives an
overview on need for prevention, various modes of caries prevention
and recent advances in caries prevention including the role of
herbs in caries prevention.
The 21th century has been called century of biotechnology. It is
the field at the cutting edge of science. The exponential increase
in the quantity of scientific information and the rate, at which
new discoveries were made, requires very elaborate,
interdisciplinary and update information and their understanding.
DNA Sequencing and Gene Cloning - An introduction covers various
topics related with DNA sequencing and amplification in vivo and in
vitro, updated knowledge of types of DNA sequencing and their
applications. In Gene Cloning section it contain all aspects
related to it including how gene cloning is important and at which
step it is important in molecular project. This book also contains
some mathematical conversions which are important for a biology
lab. So that this book is very fruitful to all students who like to
get information about sequencing and DNA amplification in vitro and
in vivo environment.
