Parallel dazu existierte die taoistische Lehre vom Weg bzw. deren Prinzip des absichtslosen Handelns. Diese beiden Lehren bildeten die Grundlage der Vorstellungswelt der Menschen in der klassischen chinesischen Kultur. Wahrend der Konfuzianismus mit seinem kraftvollen und aktiven Charakter die Personlichkeit der chinesischen Nation beeinflusste, verfolgte der Taoismus das Ziel, die Existenz des Menschen zu erhohen, auf eine immer hohere Stufe des Daseins zu bringen und bis zur hochsten zu steigern. Zhuangzi glaubte dieses Konzept in die Realitat umsetzen zu konnen, wenn er die Personlichkeit und den Charakter der chinesischen Nation seinen Ideen entsprechend gestaltete und die klassische chinesische Kultur heraushobe. Diese Arbeit setzt sich mit jenen Lehren von der idealen Personlichkeit bei Zhuangzi auseinander. Dabei wird zunachst erlautert, wie die philosophischen Gedanken Zhuangzis entstanden waren, d.h. auf welchen Grundlagen seine Personlichkeitslehre aufbaut. Im Anschluss daran folgt eine Darstellung der Lehre vom wahrhaften Menschen, die in der von Zhuangzi konzipierten Idee von der idealen Personlichkeit eine zentrale Rolle spielt. Abschliessend werden die konkreten Methoden dieser Personlichkeitslehre dargestellt und erlautert, welche Ziele damit verfolgt wurden
