As the demand for energy harvesting and storage devices grows, this
book will be valuable for researchers to learn about the most
current achievements in this sector. Sustainable development
systems are centered on three pillars: economic development,
environmental stewardship, and social. One of the ideas established
to achieve balance between these pillars is to minimize the usage
of nonrenewable energy sources. Harvesting energy from the
surrounding environment and converting it into electrical power is
one viable solution to this problem. In recent years, there has
been a surge in the development of new energy generation
technologies such as solar, wind, and thermal energy to replace
fossil fuel energy supplies with cleaner renewable ones. Energy
harvesting systems have emerged as a key study topic and are
rapidly expanding.

era, including global governance, international law, citizenship,
constitutionalism, community, domesticity, territory, sovereignty,
and nationalism. The volume explores the specific philosophical and
institutional challenges in constructing a cosmopolitan political
community beyond the nation state. It reorients and decolonizes the
boundaries of 'cosmopolitanism' and questions the contemporary
discourse to posit inclusive alternatives. Presenting rich and
diverse perspectives from across the world, the volume will
interest scholars and students of politics and international
relations, political theory, public policy, ethics, and philosophy.

Technology management education and business education are visibly
intertwined in the current educational system. Certain efforts that
have taken place in the recent past are the interinstitutional
discourse around the world. Technology management is a dynamic and
evolving profession, driven by changes in technology,
globalization, sustainability, and the increasing importance of the
service economy. The Handbook of Research on Future Opportunities
for Technology Management Education is a comprehensive reference
book that enables readers to comprehend the trends in technological
changes and the need to orient business education and technology
management in workplaces. The book serves to support with the
formation and implementation of appropriate policies for technology
management. Covering topics such as big data analytics, cloud

This book provides the bird's eye view of the latest scientific
research centered around the importance of gut bacteria in
influencing our health and well-being and their impact on lifestyle
diseases. The scientific information is presented in an
easy-to-understand language while being interspersed with fun-facts
and anecdotal accounts, which entertain the audience while helping
them acquire this fundamental and relevant scientific knowledge.
The authors explain in a lay-person friendly terminology about the
role of gut bacteria in determining the state of both our physical
andmental well-being. The authors then share insights about the
role of gut bacteria in predisposition to various lifestyle
diseases such as diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and
response to stress, utilizing the latest published scientific
research in peer-reviewed journals. -"What are the gut bacteria?"
-"What are the various factors which affect their composition and
numbers?" "How do they perform such vital functions?" -"How do they
protect us from the biggest killers of today's mankind- the
lifestyle diseases?" -And most importantly, "how can we harness
this knowledge for our benefit?" This book answers these questions
in an easy language for readers without any background in biology.

Oral manifestations are frequently the initial signs of leukemia,
particularly in the acute forms, prompting the patient to consult
the dentist first. The oral cavity, and especially the gingival
tissue, is one site commonly involved either by leukemic
infiltration or by inflammatory reactive hyperplasia causing
gingival enlargement. The gingival infiltration may also be present
without gingival enlargement. It is therefore imperative that the
dentist recognize these leukemic lesions as early as possible
because of the danger, in some instances, of oral surgical
interference and also the necessity of medical attention.
Therefore, gingival FNAC was performed as a diagnostic procedure
with an aim to assess its diagnostic value in detecting leukemic
gingival infiltration in acute leukemia patients presenting with or
without gingival enlargement.

Genetic disorders are far more common than is widely appreciated.
Abnormalities can range from a small mutation in a single gene to
the addition or subtraction of an entire chromosome or set of
chromosomes. Sound knowledge is required enabling individuals to be
better informed about genetic risks and reproductive options and
thus further aids in prevention of morbidity resulting from genetic
diseases and alleviation of the sufferings this would pose. The aim
here is to provide overall familiarity with Genetic Disorders, with
focus on its types and brief description on the diagnosis,
screening and treatment.
Our approach to the way we look at genes or analyze DNA completely
revolutionized after Dr. Kary Mullis envisioned a means of copying
DNA in a chain reaction in 1983. Subsequently, he won the Nobel
Prize for inventing this powerful polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
technology which has now become a ubiquitous tool in every life
science laboratory, be it for basic or applied research, for
diagnostics.PCR is one of the most important techniques used to
study DNA and RNA obtained from a variety of tissue sources and
thus has become a "Cornerstone of Genome Sequencing Projects."
Today the extent to which immune-pathologic and molecular
pathologic techniques are employed varies greatly, but it is
conceivable that in the next decade, many of today's most
technically advanced methods of molecular analysis will become
standard practice. The aim here is to provide an overall
familiarity with PCR, details of some typical PCR experiments, and
a focus on issue useful to the field of genomic analysis.
Green Tobacco Sickness is a health hazard that rarely receives any
sort of attention in the research arena when compared to smoked or
smokeless form of tobacco. In this book we have tried to highlight
the potential hazards of this condition. We have also summarized
studies conducted in this area. The various systemic manifestations
of this condition have also been discussed in detail. The measures
that could be implemented to reduce the hazards of green tobacco
sickness have also been mentioned.
Dental caries is the most prevalent oral disease in the world
especially developing countries like India. It affects children as
early as 6 months of age and often carries itself throughout the
life of an individual. Compounding to the existing problem of high
incidence of caries, there are very few dental professionals in
India, those too unequally distributed (dentist to population
ratio: 1:100000 in rural areas and 1:35000 in urban areas).
Moreover, they cater primarily to curative and restorative needs
rather than preventive needs of population. The plight of story is
further strengthened by the fact that there is no comprehensive
oral health programme or policy in India. The book focuses on
feasibility of oral health training of community health workers
(anganwadi workers)in improving the oral health status of preschool
children in a Northern City of India. It also highlights the
importance of including Snyder test (a caries activity test) in
field settings which requires minimum laboratory facilities; is
easy to perform, read and interpret; is cost effective and does not
require strict cold chain conditions.
