Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy star in this British/French crime drama series based on the Scandinavian show 'The Bridge'. When the body of a French politician is found between the UK and France, detectives Karl Roebuck (Dillane) and Elise Wassermann (Poésy) must put cultural differences aside to achieve their shared goal - to catch the murderer. They soon realise that this is not just a single murder and that they have a serial killer on their hands. Can they work together to solve the crime?
Marina de Van writes, directs and stars in this intense and visceral psychological drama about a young woman who spirals into a cycle of physical self-harm. When Esther (de Van), a sweet and self-conscious young woman with a good job and a steady boyfriend, falls and suffers injuries to her leg, she gradually becomes obsessed with her own body and skin to the point where she is aggressively carving wounds in her own flesh. Her boyfriend, Vincent (Laurent Lucas) is understandably concerned and angry, but his inability to understand her disturbed psychological state forces Esther into further isolation and torment. Modern jazz supremos Esbjorn Svensson Trio provide the soundtrack.
Rachid Bouchareb writes and directs this sequel to his 2007 political drama 'Days of Glory'. Set against the backdrop of the Algerian struggle for independence from France after the Second World War, the drama follows three brothers who become separated during the massacre at Setif. Messaoud (Roschdy Zem) joins the French army and goes off to fight in Indochina. Said (Jamel Debbouze) takes his mother to live in the shanty town at Pigalle in France, where he becomes a street hustler and boxing promoter. Meanwhile, resistance fighter Abdelkadan (Sami Bouajila) is imprisoned for his political beliefs. Eventually the brothers are reunited in Paris, where they find that freedom is still something they all have to fight for.
