Accounts of the relationships between states and terrorist organizations in the Cold War era have long been shaped by speculation, a lack of primary sources and even conspiracy theories. In the last few years, however, things have evolved rapidly. Using a wide range of case studies including the British State and Loyalist Paramilitaries in Northern Ireland, as well as the United States and Nicaragua, this book sheds new light on the relations between state and terrorist actors, allowing for a fresh and much more insightful assessment of the contacts, dealings, agreements and collusion with terrorist organizations undertaken by state actors on both sides of the Iron Curtain. This book presents the current state of research and provides an assessment of the nature, motives, effects, and major historical shifts of the relations between individual states and terrorist organizations. The articles collected demonstrate that these state-terrorism relationships were not only much more ambiguous than much of the older literature had suggested but are, in fact, crucial for the understanding of global political history in the Cold War era.

Companies which have already successfully implemented solutions for these requirements may have a significant market advantage. The basis for such an advantage, in addition to customer orientation and the mostly related change to the organizational structure, is the optimization of the internal processes, also called business processes. Workflow management systems can optimize this process and subsequently support the implementation of optimized processes profitably. The only thing to clarify is which processes are suitable for such systems. The following work deals with different approaches to evaluate the potential of processes with regard to their use by workflow management systems.

In den meisten Fallen funktioniert dies bei Unternehmen mit geringer Fluktuation der Mitarbeiter, solange Kernfunktionen, durch teils langjahrige, erfahrene Mitarbeiter, welche die Organisationskultur leben besetzt sind. Doch ab einem gewissen Punkt, der in den meisten Fallen direkt mit dem Wachstum des Unternehmens im Einklang steht ist es notwendig strukturierte Vorgehensweisen einzufuhren. Denn ohne klar strukturierte Prozesse ubersteigt die Komplexitat den bisher tragbaren Aufwand sehr schnell und das bisherige arbeiten auf Zuruf" wird immer problematischer. Speziell in IT-Abteilungen kommt es sehr rasch zu unuberschaubaren Auswirkungen bei zunehmender Komplexitat des Systems. Ein Kriterium fur die Erreichung dieses kritischen Punktes wahre z.B. der Anstieg von selbst verursachten Fehlern. Selbst bei Prozessen, die bereits mehrmals ausgefuhrt wurden, aber nicht in ausreichend dokumentierter Form vorliegen, kommt es speziell in zeitkritischen Situationen immer wieder zu Problemen. Als Verantwortlicher fur den Systembetrieb obliegt es in meiner Verantwortung, einen moglichst reibungslosen Betrieb eines 24x7 Systems zu gewahrleisten. Da es den Rahmen dieser Arbeit bei weitem ubersteigen wurde beschaftigt sich die folgende Arbeit nur mit den Problemen bei der Einfuhrung einer prozessgestutzten Dokumentationsrichtlinie in einer IT-Abteilung. Nach der kurzen Erarbeitung von notwendigen begrifflichen Definitionen, wird die Problemstellung erortert. In weitere Folge wird die Umsetzung, also die ersten Schritte der eigentlichen Einfuhrung ausgefuhrt.
