A double bill of children's feature films. 'Hop' (2011), a
state-of-the-art blend of CGI-animation and live action, follows
E.B. (voice of Russell Brand), the teenage son of the Easter Bunny.
When E.B. arrives in Hollywood with ambitions of finding fame, his
dreams are almost cut short when he is hit by a car driven by
unemployed slacker Fred (James Marsden). Deciding to get what he
can out of the situation, E.B. convinces Fred to take him home
while he recovers from his injuries. Fred finds himself with a very
demanding house-guest and the duo embark on a battle of wills that
may just teach them both something important. 'Despicable Me'
(2010), a computer-animated feature, follows an arch criminal who
has a change of heart. Trying to outdo his main rival Vector (voice
of Jason Segel), serial villain Gru (Steve Carell) hatches a plan
to steal the moon, aided by his army of genetically altered corn
pops. All goes according to plan until the arrival at his door of
three little orphan girls, Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Agnes (Elsie
Fisher) and Edith (Dana Gaier), in search of a father figure.
A double bill of CGI chipmunk madness. 'Alvin and the Chipmunks'
(2007) is a live action, big screen outing for everyone's favourite
Chipmunks - Alvin, Simon and Theodore. Discovered and adopted by
struggling songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee), the dynamic trio
decide to join forces and embark on a singing career, performing
Dave's songs. When success beckons however, unscrupulous record
company boss Ian Hawke (David Cross) decides that he could make a
lot more money from the boys if Dave was out of the picture. In the
sequel 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 2' (2009), when Alvin (voice of
Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Theodore (Jesse
McCartney) are forced to put aside their music superstardom and go
back to school, they are given the challenge of saving the school's
music department by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the
bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three
singing female chipmunks known as The Chipettes: Brittany (Anna
Faris), Eleanor (Amy Poehler) and Jeanette (Christina Applegate).
Romantic and musical sparks fly in the face off that ensues between
The Chipmunks and The Chipettes.
What fuels capitalism and what stops it from collapsing? Does
marketing communications support and sustain the economic and
political status quo? This book is not about describing the ways in
which businesses can optimize the messages they put across or about
adding to the marketing communicator's toolkit. This book argues
that marketing communications plays an increasingly important role
in bolstering contemporary capitalism. Drawing on
conceptualizations of the 'market' from political economy and
sociology, it focusses on five logics that underpin and sustain the
form of capitalism in which we live: the logic of competition, the
logic of sustainability, the logic of individualism, the logic of
objectivity, and the logic of distraction. It does this by
exploring those arenas which are increasingly dominated by the
communicative activities of business: sport, CSR, social media,
statistics, and entertainment. Bringing theories from marketing and
consumer research, sociology, cultural studies, technology and
media studies to bear on marketing communications, this book is
necessary reading for undergraduate and postgraduate students and
academics who wish to understand the broader role of marketing
communications in the reproduction of contemporary capitalism.

Originally published in 1989. This book, which was one of the first
to take account of the recommendations of the Education Reform Act
which came into effect in September 1988, provides a practical
overview of primary school management from resources, which include
staff, space, equipment and finance, to relationships with outside
bodies, governors, parents, teachers, children and non-teaching
staff.
The end times could be the beginning of your greatest blessing.
Rather than Christians living in fear of what’s to come, Tim Hill invites them to move
to a new level of trust and confidence in God and a higher level of faith and
expectation as they discover the accelerated season of favor God has promised for
the days ahead.
Flying in the face of the doomsayers who forecast the demise of the church, Hill
recovers an ancient prophetic promise of provision. Sharing how this revelation
affected his own family, finances, and faith, Hill challenges readers to break free from
a powerless, status-quo Christian life filled with anxiety, depression, and hopelessness
as they discover how God’s blessings and provision precede them and enable them to
make a difference in others’ lives.
The Amos 9:13 promise is not about prosperity. Neither is it a word for just one
season. It is a way of life. Hill encourages readers to welcome it, embrace it, and
claim it as their own.
“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast
your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to
keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings!
Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills.”
—Amos 9:13, The Message
It seems much of what society thought was normal about life and the
world has changed. A tiny unseen virus has shut down businesses,
crippled nations, and taken the lives of precious people. Those
lives can never be replaced. And then there is the petty stuff like
finding a single roll of toilet paper at the supermarket. People
are wearing masks and gloves to protect themselves and others from
this unseen enemy potentially hiding inside of friends, neighbors,
and family members. Normal just isn't normal anymore. Normal is
just a place in people's minds that everyone seems to want to get
back to as soon as possible. Some people are even calling it a new
normal, but what is that? As the concept of going back to better is
considered, Dr. Tim Hill, Tim Enochs, and Adam Enochs fully
understand that some losses can never be replaced, and in that
realm, there is no going back to better. In 49 Days Back to Better,
they focus on areas where there is a choice whether to go back to
normal in those areas or find the way back to something better.
Published in 1994, this book provides both information and guidance
for teachers and students looking to advance their careers in
primary education. The author considers the opportunities which
exist, showing teachers how to develop their careers in ways which
fulfil a variety of ambitions. The author draws on research
evidence about teachers' work and careers, including his own survey
of primary school headteachers. The issue of equal opportunities is
addressed at each career stage, and advice is given on effective
presentation of job applications and performance at interview.
