"Forgive those who have trespassed against me" takes you through
the author's journey as a young girl who endured pain, neglect and
no love from her mother and never knew her father. All she ever
wanted was nurturing, guidance, protection, and love, but instead
she experienced physical and emotional abuse that impaired her
emotional development and distorted her sense of worth. She was
ultimately abandoned by her mother and taken to a place that should
have been safe, but wasn't. The abuse escalated to an even more
destructive level including severe beatings with sticks and
extension cords, rejection, and extreme, demeaning verbal abuse;
abuse that left lasting and harmful effects and caused fear and
ingrained psychological scars. Through it all, Valmerice Davis
endured and survived. She grew strong and capable while working
through the trauma in her life and she believes her experiences
have made her who she is today, a beautiful and loving wife,
mother, and grandmother. "One of my life's desires is to be the
best mother that I can be to my children and love them
unconditionally; never to subject them to the awful poison I
endured in life. I still have scars that I carry, scars that still
cause me pain. But deep down in my heart, I have truly "forgiven
those who have trespassed against me"
