This proven and internationally recognized text teaches the
methods of engineering design as a condition of successful product
development. It breaks down the design process into phases and then
into distinct steps, each with its own working methods. The book
provides more examples of product development; it also tightens the
scientific bases of its design ideas with new solution fields in
composite components, building methods, mechatronics and
adaptronics. The economics of design and development are covered
and electronic design process technology integrated into its
methods. The book is sharply written and well-illustrated.

This book looks at the methods of transportation used in Central NY
from the time before white man had an effect upon the Native
Americans, through the periods of exploration, fur trading,
settlement and the changes in transportation that occurred during
the next 150 years. It tells of the development of canals and
railroads. It covers the gradual emergence of highways and the
stagecoaches and other vehicles that traveled on them. Railroads,
trolleys, bicycles and boats are all part of the story. The
Baldwinsville area is covered in greatest detail but much of the
book relates to transportation in Central NY and parallels the
development of transportation in numerous other areas of the
northeast.

Bitz offers a history of the Plainville Turkey Farm, which came
into existence in 1923, at a time when turkey meat was a delicacy,
not affordable for most Americans, and only available for the
Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Bitz focuses on the local history of farming communities in central
New York.
Bitz shares more than 40 amusing and interesting short stories of
his early life on a turkey farm. He is one of very few people who
have been directly involved with the changes that have occurred in
commercial turkey production. He brings his insight of its early
days to the reader in vividly descriptive stories of the common
practices, now an almost forgotten part of the past.
The book describes NY's rich and varied agricultural history from
the time of the Native Americans to the 4 1/2 billion industry that
exists today. It follows the gradual settlement of the State from
forest to the nation's leading agricultural state. The book
contains over 100 pictures, spanning 150 years, and has a variety
of tables with pertinent data from 200 years of census information.
This book has appeal for people with or without agricultural
