R5,122 Discovery Miles 51 220 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

The development of practical software is exceedingly dynamic in nature and the software industry itself plays a key role in this process. As a result, higher education institutions need to produce graduates at primary and postgraduate degree levels that are well matched to the needs of local and international industry. Software Industry-Oriented Education Practices and Curriculum Development: Experiences and Lessons presents relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest empirical research findings in this area for professionals in academic institutions and industry who want to improve their understanding of this key platform. This book will serve as a reference for education and program designers across the world involved in industry-oriented education and production of graduates for its globalization.

Interoperability: the ability of a system or a product to work with other systems or products without special effort from the user is a key issue in manufacturing and industrial enterprise generally. It is fundamental to the production of goods and services quickly and at low cost at the same time as maintaining levels of quality and customisation. Composed of over 50 papers, Enterprise Interoperability III ranges from academic research through case studies to industrial and administrative experience of interoperability. The international nature of the authorship continues to broaden. Many of the papers have examples and illustrations calculated to deepen understanding and generate new ideas. A concise reference to the state of the art in software interoperability, Enterprise Interoperability III will be of great value to engineers and computer scientists working in manufacturing and other process industries and to software engineers and electronic and manufacturing engineers working in the academic environment.

This book presents the latest results related to one- and two-way models for time series data. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a classical statistical method for IID data proposed by R.A. Fisher to investigate factors and interactions of phenomena. In contrast, the methods developed in this book apply to time series data. Testing theory of the homogeneity of groups is presented under a wide variety of situations including uncorrelated and correlated groups, fixed and random effects, multi- and high-dimension, parametric and nonparametric spectral densities. These methods have applications in several scientific fields. A test for the existence of interactions is also proposed. The book deals with asymptotics when the number of groups is fixed and sample size diverges. This framework distinguishes the approach of the book from panel data and longitudinal analyses, which mostly deal with cases in which the number of groups is large. The usefulness of the theory in this book is illustrated by numerical simulation and real data analysis. This book is suitable for theoretical statisticians and economists as well as psychologists and data analysts.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the Fourth International IFIP Working Conference on Enterprise Interoperability (IWEI 2012), held in Harbin, China, September 6-7, 2012. The theme for IWEI 2012 was "Collaboration, Interoperability and Services for Networked Enterprises," so submissions and discussions focused on these three areas critical for enterprise interoperability.

The 10 full papers, 3 short papers, and 4 invited papers presented in this volume were carefully selected from 21 submissions, following a thorough reviewing process, during which each paper was scrutinized by at least three experts in the field. The papers cover a wide spectrum of enterprise interoperability issues, ranging from foundational theories, frameworks, architectures, methods and guidelines to applications, and case studies. In addition, this volume also includes the two invited keynotes.
