Throughout film history, Hollywood has produced a number of sweeping epics and generation-defining movies. However, one Biblical saga – Cecil B. DeMille’s The Ten Commandments – has withstood the test of time. Beginning with the original 1923 silent film, a powerful story unfolds comparing the Old Testament morality to contemporary immorality. The 1956 film is universally acknowledged among critics as a cinematic masterpiece with a legendary cast including Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, and Anne Baxter. From its Oscar-winning director and revolutionary Oscar- winning special effects to its sweeping score and unforgettable sets, The Ten Commandments presents the inspiring story of Moses in all its stunning glory.
A lawyer and businessman (Richard Benjamin and James Brolin) take a dream holiday to the newly opened technological paradise Westworld, a resort offering its visitors all the thrills, but none of the dangers, of the old Wild West, which is recreated by supposedly harmless robots. However, when one of the computerized gunslingers (Yul Brynner) malfunctions, the two city slickers find themselves in a battle for their lives. Directorial debut of 'Jurassic Park' author, Michael Crichton.
Yul Brynner and Trevor Howard star in this action drama set in the 1920s in an India under British rule. After being imprisoned by the United Provinces Police, tribe leader Sultan (Brynner) manages to break out with some of his men in tow and leads them in a revolt in an effort to free themselves from the British regime. When he hears that the remaining prisoners are to be transferred to Delhi, he plans to help them escape but police officer Freddy Young (Howard) has been ordered to capture Sultan, dead or alive.
When nineteenth century English schoolteacher Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr) is employed by the King of Siam (Yul Brynner) to educate his many children, she takes her son, Louis (Rex Thompson), along with her. Anna, a strong-willed woman, soon clashes with the king, who is used to having his every wish adhered to without question. However, Anna's refusal to bow to his will wins his respect and, eventually, his love. Rodgers and Hammerstein numbers include 'Hello Young Lovers' and 'Getting To Know You'.
Epic retelling of the story of Moses (Charlton Heston), beginning with him as a baby in the bullrushes, and then moving through his time in the Egyptian court, the struggle with Pharoah (Yul Brynner) to obtain the freedom of his people, the parting of the Red Sea, the receipt of the Ten Commandments, the years of wandering in the desert, and the final arrival in the land of Canaan. Directed by Cecil B. DeMille, this was both his crowning glory and his final film.

Pair of films by French poet, novelist, dramatist and artist Jean Cocteau bookending his film career: 'Un Sang D'Un Poete' (1930) is his debut and a surrealist classic in which the action begins with a young poet sketching faces. The mouth of one of the sketches comes to life, becomes affixed to the poet's hand, and is then wiped from the hand onto a statue. The poet then flees into a mirror and a series of adventures in an alarming fantasy world. 'Le Testament D'Orphee' (1959) is the personal, final film from Cocteau who stars as the poet, wandering through a dream world populated with figures and motifs from his earlier works. Features an all-star cast, including the likes of Charles Aznavour, Yul Brynner and Pablo Picasso.
