Androgens and androgen receptors (AR) play critical roles in the
development and progression of prostate cancer, the most frequently
diagnosed cancer and second leading cause of cancer death in US
males. AR is an androgen-dependent DNA-binding transcription factor
that regulates the expression of androgen-responsive genes.
Identification and characterization of androgen-responsive genes
provide insights into the cellular mechanisms of androgen action
and may lead to new approaches in diagnosis, prognosis, prevention
and/or treatment of prostate cancer. This volume provides critical
information from well respected experts in the field. Some of the
exciting topics include the new understanding of mechanisms
underlining the regulation of androgen-responsive gene expression,
and functions of various androgen-responsive genes in biological
processes essential in carcinogenesis including cell growth,
angiogenesis, and epithelial-to-mesenchyme transition (EMT). Other
important aspects addressed are the current and potential clinic
applications of knowledge on androgen-responsive gene regulation
and function. This book is intended for researchers, scientists,
faculty, and advanced graduate students with an interest in
androgen action and prostate cancer.

This two-volume set LNCS 12131 and LNCS 12132 constitutes the
refereed proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Image
Analysis and Recognition, ICIAR 2020, held in Povoa de Varzim,
Portugal, in June 2020. The 54 full papers presented together with
15 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 123
submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical
sections: image processing and analysis; video analysis; computer
vision; 3D computer vision; machine learning; medical image and
analysis; analysis of histopathology images; diagnosis and
screening of ophthalmic diseases; and grand challenge on automatic
lung cancer patient management. Due to the corona pandemic, ICIAR
2020 was held virtually only.

I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience,
compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.Lao Tzu Funny,
but the Master of wealth-building says the same thing: "The stock
market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the
patient." Warren Buffett Patience is important in life and in
building wealth. Most investors are not patient so most investors
are not wealthy. In fact, the average investor earns only 2.56%
annually according to DALBAR's annual Qualitative Analysis of
Investor Behavior. Mr Buffett's strategy of patience is the most
successful. He earns about 20% a year compounded over time. He does
not buy and sell stock. In other words, he holds the stock of
companies for a long time. Most investors jump from one successful
stock or mutual fund to another. Each time they do this, they are
basically paying at the higher price AFTER the security has proved
successful. Each time they are disappointed and then sell at a
lower price. Every buy and sell transaction costs them a commission
or fee, reducing their gains even more. They earn 2.56% while
Buffett earns 19.7%. Wu wei is the core of the Wealth Tao. It means
there is no need to struggle to reach our goals. Once we establish
our stock portfolio or mutual funds, we do nothing to stop the
growth of our account. We patiently let the market provide our
wealth. Buffett has been patient for over 40 years and has grown
his initial investment of $6,000 (from paper routes) to $65
billion. You don't need to do a thing to grow your money in the
stock market. As Buffett has said: We continue to make more money
when snoring than when active. berkshirehathaway.com/letters/1996
Prostate cancer (PCa) is a disease with high incidence and
prevalence. Early detection of PCa has been an area for research to
decrease its morbidity and mortality. The discovery of prostate
specific antigen (PSA) revolutionised screening of PCa, which was
largely dependent on detection of prostatic acid phosphatase and
digital rectal examination. Several leading organisations and
cancer societies, based on present evidence, have published their
recommendations for its use in detection and monitoring of PCa.
There has been difference in opinions on its appropriate threshold
value to recommend prostate biopsy and benefits on health outcomes
due to its use in screening. This book presents and discusses
current research in the study of PCa and it's role in the screening
of prostate cancer.
