It is very easy to apply. It gives the colour saturation and enhancement of a good solvent based varnish. By adding water to the concentrate different levels of sheen can be created between low sheen and high gloss.Artists should experiment with color swatches to decide on the finishes that they prefer.Apply a seal coat one part varnish two parts water. This allows the varnish to penetrate and seal the paint layer so that a more concentrated varnish can be spread easily when the seal coat is dry.If you want a high gloss finish the full concentrate can be used over the seal coat and two or more coats can be used to exaggerate gloss as required.For a subtle finish you might decide that the seal coat is all that you need or you might apply another diluted coat to create a satin finish which is more attractive than a satin varnish containing a flatting agent.How To ApplyPlace your painting in a sloping position so that you can pick up the runs or dribbles. Golden Retarder is an additive used to increase the open (drying) time of acrylic paints. Useful for "wet in wet" techniques and reducing skinning on the palette.

Golden Super Matte Medium is a pourable medium useful for reducing gloss. Because of its high level of matteing agents, you will only need to add a tiny amount to affect the sheen of your paint without altering the viscosity or strength of color. Super Matte Medium should always be blended with other acrylic paints or mediums as this product is not intended to be used by itself.

Golden High Flow Medium (formerly Airbrush Transparent Extender) is a liquid medium useful for extending colors, decreasing gloss, and increasing film integrity. Useful for blending with Golden Fluid Acrylics to decrease the gloss, without increasing viscosity.

We generally do not recommend using Airbrush Medium with the pre-made Golden Airbrush Colors because this creates a very slow-drying, potentially weaker paint film, with poor frisket performance (color sticking to frisket or masking films) until the film sufficiently dries. When frisketing is of critical importance, use Golden High Flow Medium to dilute the airbrush colors or other acrylics.

High Flow Medium is recommended whenever a mixture requires airbrush medium additions greater than 2 parts medium to 1 part paint. This will yield a paint system that dries quickly, ‘friskets’ well, and has excellent sprayability.

Additional Tips:
Paint on any non-oily surface. Remove oils, grease, or other contaminants before application. Non-absorbent surfaces should be abraded for increased adhesion. Keep tools wet during use. Do not allow product to dry in airbrush. Clean tools with soap and water. Clean airbrush with water, ammonia/water, alcohol or miscellaneous household cleaners (however, consider effect of cleaner on airbrush parts, such as rings and seals).
