A specifically designed sprayer which produces a controlled fine mist intended to keep Atelier Interactive workable for as long as desired. Ideal for wet-in-wet techniques. When to spray? As the paint starts to dry you will feel your brush begin to drag. This means it is time to spray if you want to keep the paint wet and workable. How to spray?Hold the bottle back about 30cm from the painting and lightly mist the area you want to keep wet. The painting surface should not be physically disturbed by the water droplets so if you are getting large droplets or big dribbles then you are spraying too much. What if the paint won’t re-wet?After the paint has just dried it can still be reactivated with water but after about an hour, depending on the climate and paint thickness, you will need to use Unlocking Formula in your water sprayer to re-wet the paint.Note: For larger works you may need to upsize your sprayer in which case be sure to get one that delivers a fine mist of water and not a jet of heavy droplets. This product is part of the Atelier Interactive range. The Atelier interactive range can be used with traditional acrylic medium (or water) for overpainting or layering, or alternatively by itself it can allow you to use wet-in-wet painting techniques, has a longer working time and blend in a way similar to how you’d use oil paints. You can combine the Atelier Interactive range and Atelier Traditional range to create unique and interesting effects within the same painting.

The acicular particle shape of Wollastonite lends itself to creating texture from ready-made paints such as Matisse background for pastels or mixing with Polymer Gloss Varnish, to create areas of texture on a canvas or painting. Mix up to 20-50% Wollastonite to gesso paint to create a superb textured surface for pastels and charcoal. Wollastonite produces a more uneven texture than Ground Quartz, therefore giving a great ground for harder pastels (use Ground Quartz for soft pastels). Wollastonite is ideal for acrylic paints due to its alkaline properties. Add varnishes and mediums to create texture in paintings on canvas.Read more about this medium in this Jackson's Art blog post.
