The legendary Keanu Reeves and
inimitable writer China Miéville team up on this genre-bending epic of
ancient powers, modern war, and an outcast who cannot die.
A mind-blowing epic from Keanu Reeves and China Miéville, unlike
anything these two genre-bending pioneers have created before, inspired
by the world of the BRZRKR comic books.
She said, We needed a tool. So I asked the gods.
There have always been whispers. Legends. The warrior who cannot be
killed. Who’s seen a thousand civilizations rise and fall. He has had
many names: Unute, Child of Lightning, Death himself. These days, he’s
known simply as \"B.\"
And he wants to be able to die.
In the present day, a U.S. black-ops group has promised him they can
help with that. And all he needs to do is help them in return. But when
an all-too-mortal soldier comes back to life, the impossible event
ultimately points toward a force even more mysterious than B himself.
One at least as strong. And one with a plan all its own.
In a collaboration that combines Miéville’s singular style and
creativity with Reeves’s haunting and soul-stirring narrative, these
two inimitable artists have created something utterly unique, sure to
delight existing fans and to create scores of new ones.
When the body of a brilliant micro-biologist is found on the
pavement below a multi-storey car-park, all the signs point to
suicide. But one officer in MI6 is not so sure. Daniel Rankin
enlists the help of Charlie Watts, a retired police detective, to
investigate further. What they uncover will eventually lead to a
desperate race against time. This is the third adventure in which
Daniel Rankin and Charlie Watts work together. But the stakes have
never been higher. They have to move fast if they are to prevent a
devastating attack on London whose effect could prove worse than
the Black Death five hundred years ago. Full of intrigue and
unexpected twists, this thriller of scientific espionage and
bio-terrorism will keep you gripped from the first to the very last
page.
Following Last of the Cold War Warriors and Last of the Cold War
Warriors II, the author tracks the career of anti-hero Adam Collins
of the Secret Intelligence Service aka MI6. On a high-risk
operation ranging across Europe, their brief is to recover or
render inoperable the US National Security Agency's new - and
missing - cyber warfare programme, codenamed TERRAMAX. The body bag
count inexorably rises, complicated by the involvement of other
'hostile' intelligence teams, also intent on gaining possession of
the new cyber warfare system at any cost. Adam's joint operation
team, comprising the SIS, NSA and NCS, find themselves playing a
cat-and-mouse game with the anonymous 'Auctioneer', leading to a
personal tragedy for Adam. After Adam's resignation from 'the
Office', the story continues four years later - two of them having
seen Adam in prison - as the SIS reappears in his life, making him
an offer he knows he can't refuse. With a new partner, once again
Adam finds himself crossing international time zones in a race
against time to find the SIS 'mole' responsible for the elimination
of several service officers and assets worldwide - with more to
follow. With a brief to locate and extract or eliminate the 'mole',
the operation will culminate in a virtual suicide mission in the
People's Republic of China. The author, a non-person in
intelligence terms, is noted for the depth of information and
accurate detail in his writing, taking the reader on a
rollercoaster ride into the world of shadows that is
intelligence...

Victor and Eli started out as college roommates brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same ambition in each other. A shared interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.
Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl with a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the arch-nemeses have set a course for revenge but who will be left alive at the end?
Two sisters on trial for murder. They accuse each other. Who do you
believe? From Steve Cavanagh, the “wickedly clever” (The New York
Times) master of twisty psychological thrillers.
“911 what’s your emergency?”
“My dad’s dead. My sister Sofia killed him. She’s still in the house.
Please send help.”
“My dad’s dead. My sister Alexandra killed him. She’s still in the
house. Please send help.”
One of them is a liar and a killer.
But which one?

There are people who don't exist, people who live outside the
realms of normal society. They keep us safe. We should never hear
about their activities. If we do, something has gone terribly
wrong. The Assets are one such covert organisation, a highly
trained counter terrorist unit. An international force, tasked with
hunting down and exterminating the enemies of the free world.
However, they are still only human. No man is exempt from the
pressures of combat. Anyone can break. Anyone can go Rogue. Now they
must hunt one of their own.
Welcome to the Hitchcock Hotel.
Dedicated to the Master of Suspense.
Full of props and memorabilia.
Be sure to mind the birds. Be careful in the shower.
Five guests are invited – all old friends.
They go way back. Way, way back.
No one’s seen reclusive
owner Alfred in sixteen years.
And the question everyone’s asking:
why are we here? Is it a game? A puzzle?
It’s certainly a mystery.
But it’s also deadly serious.
Because someone has a score to settle.
And this will be the perfect opportunity.
After all, it wouldn’t be Hitchcock without a murder . . .
In 'The Guardians' we follow the reactions of the British
Government to the attacks in Paris on the offices of the magazine
Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish supermarket. Their concern, of course,
is of repeat attacks in Great Britain and, in particular, on the
vulnerable junior Government ministers who do not have police
protection. With each Government department anxious not to increase
its spending, providing extra protection would be costly. It is
decided to recruit recently-retired members of the armed forces,
mainly with the rank of sergeant and with active front-line
experience in Afghanistan. Fifty would be initially required, with
a reserve of another fifty, all placed on a twelve-month contract
that could be extended.
