'60s B-Movie Caper featuring a jungle guide (Michael Latimer) kidnapped by a lost tribe of natives who want to sacrifice him to their god - a white rhino. At the moment of his imminent dispatch, however, he is incredibly thrown backwards in time to a kingdom of dominant, uniformly buxom and comely brunette ladies and their blonde slaves. Their leader Queen Kari (Martine Beswick) puts the hard word on the junglist but he turns her down and sides with the blondes, leading to his imprisonment. Escape from the shoddily built prison looks simple enough, but then there's the matter of escaping this prehistoric timeslice and getting back to the '60s.Produced under the title 'Slave Girls of the White Rhino', the film was a hastily conceived means of recycling the sets and costumes from One Million Years B.C. Producer and director Michael Carreras wisely wrote the screenplay under a pseudonym. The name he chose, 'Henry Younger', was a joke at the expense of Anthony Hinds, who wrote under the name 'John Elder'.
It is 922 AD. Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan (Antonio Banderas) is an Arab ambassador travelling through Northern Europe with his mentor Melchisidek (Omar Sharif). This warrior must be an outsider, and soon Ahmed is enlisted to join the clan, but further attacks rapidly place the band under mortal threat.
Roald Dahl's modern classic for children becomes a delightful combination of live action and stop-motion animation by the team that made The Nightmare Before Christmas: director Henry Selick and producers Tim Burton (Batman) and Denise Di Novi. The story concerns young James (played for real and through voice-overs by Paul Terry), who is orphaned and left in the charge of two cruel aunts (Miriam Margolyes, Joanna Lumley). Rescued by a mysterious fellow (Pete Postlethwaite), James ends up inside a giant peach, drifting over the Atlantic Ocean in the company of a gentleman grasshopper (voiced by Simon Callow), a fast-talking centipede (Richard Dreyfuss), an anxious earthworm (David Thewlis), a matronly ladybug (Jane Leeves), and a sexy spider (Susan Sarandon). The collection of actors and their creepy-crawly alter egos are a delight, especially when some of the song-and-dance numbers (tunes are written by Randy Newman) get everyone going. --Tom Keogh

Bryan Singer directs this blockbuster superhero sequel based on the characters from the Marvel comic strip. When the survivors of the battle in 'X-Men: The Last Stand', led by Magneto (Ian McKellen), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Storm (Halle Berry), discover that total annihilation now awaits humans and mutants alike, they send the ageless Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) back in time to try and change the course of events. In the past, Wolverine must team up with the younger incarnations of the X-Men seen in 'X-Men: First Class', Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), to avert disaster. Will he succeed?
