The legend of King Arthur is provided with a further instalment in this musical animated adventure. Rapunzel, who has been looking for a means of escape from the tower in which she has been grounded for her entire life, strikes a deal with the dashing outlaw and the unlikely pair soon find themselves caught up in the adventure of a lifetime as they face magic, monsters and villains in their quest for freedom.
High flying animated comedy adventure from Pixar Studios. 70-something retired balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) decides to use his twilight years to fulfil his lifelong dream of travelling through the wilds of South America. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he lifts off for his big adventure - only to discover that he has inadvertently brought a stowaway along with him in the form of Russell (Jordan Nagai), an eight-year-old wilderness explorer who is desperate to earn his 'Helping the Elderly' merit badge. The film won awards for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Music at both the 2010 BAFTAs and the Academy Awards.

(2001) Sulley (voiced by John Goodman) and sidekick Mike (Billy Crystal) are the top scaring team on the job at an energy firm where their task is to keep Monstropolis ticking over, running it on the power generated by children screaming. Believing children are toxic, dangerous creatures who must be kept out of Monstropolis at all costs, Mike and Sulley are terrified when they realise that a little girl called 'Boo' (Mary Gibbs) has followed them back through a door. Slowly they realise that little Boo isn't actually dangerous at all and uncover a sinister plot that exists behind the company's happy facade, involving creepy arch-rival scarer Randall (Steve Buscemi). The prequel 'Monsters University' (2013) chronicles the college years of Sulley and Mike. After meeting at university, the pair soon become rivals. When they are rejected from the 'Scare' programme, however, they put their differences aside and work together in order to fulfil their ambition to become scarers. In the process they join a fraternity of fellow rejects and compete in the Scare Games to prove their worth.

Classic comic espionage caper from Disney studios starring Peter Ustinov and Derek Nimmo. Lord Southmere (Nimmo) hides a top-secret microfilm containing the formula for the mysterious 'Lotus X' in a dinosaur skeleton at the Natural History Museum in London after narrowly escaping from a gang of ruthless Chinese spies. When he realises that the spies are following him, he instructs his former nanny Hettie (Helen Hayes) to retrieve the microfilm. Southmere is then promptly recaptured by the head spy, Hnup Wan (Peter Ustinov), while the resourceful Hettie assembles a group of fellow nannies to help her search for the microfilm. But the nannies are up against the cunning of the evil spy gang, who will stop at nothing to get to the prized Lotus X before Hettie and her helpers.
Children's animated feature. When an apocalyptic flood threatens the Earth, Noah builds an ark to save all of the planet's animals two by two. But unfortunately for Dave (voice of Dermot Magennis) and his son Finny (Callum Maloney) Nestrians aren't allowed on board and after trying to sneak their way on in disguise, disaster strikes as the boat departs with Finny stranded back on land with young grymp Leah (Ava Connolly). The pair have to work together to survive the oncoming flood and try to find a way to return to the ark. Meanwhile, Dave, along with Leah's mum Hazel (Tara Flynn), have to put aside their differences to unite the ark in a quest to find their missing children.
Animated adventure based on the comic book 'Batman: The Court of Owls' by Scott Snyder. Bruce Wayne aka Batman (voice of Jason O'Mara) is having difficulty controling his son Damian aka Robin (Stuart Allan), who often disobeys his father's orders, sneaking out of the house to fight crime. So far, however, he has followed Batman's order not to kill anyone but when assassin Talon (Jeremy Sisto), a member of the organised group of criminals known as the Court of Owls, tries to recruit him Damian begins a journey down a dark path. Meanwhile, Batman realises the Court of Owls may have been involved in his parents' deaths and is determined to get revenge. Through all they endure will father and son be able to reconcile their differences?

In 'The Little Mermaid' (1989), based on Hans Christian Andersen's story, Ariel (Jodi Benson) is the mermaid daughter of King Triton (Kenneth Mars), and lives beneath the waves. However, Ariel longs to see the world above, especially after rescuing a handsome prince from drowning. To this end she makes a deal with sea witch Ursula (Pat Carroll): Ariel can live above the sea in exchange for her beautiful singing voice. Ariel soon regrets her decision, however, when it transpires that her father's kingdom is at risk. In 'Sleeping Beauty' (1959), adapted from another folk tale written by the Brothers Grimm, Princess Aurora (Mary Costa) falls into a deep and endless sleep on her 16th birthday as a result of a curse put on her when she was born by the evil fairy Maleficent (Eleanor Audley). Only a kiss from Prince Phillip (Bill Shirley) can wake Aurora, and three good fairies set out to engineer that event.
Double bill of children's animated features. 'Rio' (2011) is a comedy adventure featuring the voice talents of Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway. Blu (voice of Eisenberg) is a rare macaw living in a bookshop in small-town Minnesota. Believing himself to be the last of his kind, he is thrilled to hear that a female macaw of the same species has been spotted in South America. Blu must now overcome his social ineptitude and fear of flying and set out for Rio de Janeiro to track down the feisty and independent Jewel (Hathaway) and try to win her heart. In 'Rio 2' (2014), following their romantic escapades in the first film, Blu and Jewel are now happily married macaws with three children. Adventure lies in wait for the fledgling family when they leave Rio de Janeiro for the wilds of the Amazon to visit relatives. Not only does Jewel's estranged father Eduardo (Andy Garcia) intimidate Blu - who is already out of his comfort zone so far from the city - but Nigel (Jermaine Clement), his nemesis, returns with his heart set on revenge. To complicate matters further, Blu and Jewel learn that the fragile habitat of the Amazon faces a grave threat. Can the couple save the environment that nourishes the creatures they visit and cope with the many challenges thrown their way? |
