Eliphas Levi, born Alphonse Louis Constant, (1810-75) was
instrumental in the revival of Western occultism in the nineteenth
century, and published several influential books on magic that are
also reissued in this series. This posthumous publication (1896) is
a translation by William Wynn Westcott, co-founder of the 'Hermetic
Order of the Golden Dawn', of an unpublished French manuscript by
Levi, then owned by the spiritualist Edward Maitland. It includes
eight of the author's drawings. Each short chapter outlines the
meaning of one of the twenty-two tarot trumps and is followed by a
brief editor's note describing the card's iconography and
summarising interpretations (sometimes deliberately misleading)
given in Levi's earlier publications. The book ends with
Kabbalistic prayers and rituals, praise of Jesus Christ as the
great initiate, and a surprising assertion that Christianity has
superseded ancient magic, revealing the life-long tension between
Catholicism and magic in Levi's personality and thought.
Contemporary science views our planet as an insignificant speck of
dust in the vastness of space, with its four kingdoms as a random
assemblage of atoms. Yvan Rioux presents a radically different
perspective, demonstrating an indissoluble relationship between
Heaven and Earth. Over aeons of existence, the four kingdoms have
manifested a creative power that perpetually brings forth new
expressions. With the goal of bridging science and spirit, Rioux
helps revive the old intuitive awareness of an intimate communion
between the outer perceptible life of nature, the inner life of the
soul and the majestic spiritual formative forces that preside as
architects - an organic whole where all levels co-evolve. The
earth, nesting in its solar system, is connected with the Milky Way
and the twelve constellations. The impact of the stars as an
influence on human behaviour has been known for millennia. In the
original edition of Rudolf Steiner's Calendar of the Soul, twelve
illustrations of the constellations, made by Imma von Eckardstein,
were published for the first time. These intuitive drawings differ
greatly from the traditional ones, but Steiner stressed their
importance for our modern consciousness. The images invite us to
comprehend formative forces in their various guises in the kingdoms
of nature. By exploring the gifts of each constellation, the author
uses Imma's drawings as a template to elucidate the emergence of
twelve basic forms as the common denominators of all creatures,
leading eventually towards the human form. 'The [new] images of the
zodiac constellations represent actual experiences connected with
the waking and sleeping of particular spiritual beings. In these
images we have a knowledge that needs to be renewed at this
time...' - Rudolf Steiner (1912)

chances. With many examples, and worked exercises, including a
detailed interpretation of actual charts and case studies, Dr
Taylor Wu demonstrates how to bring the GanZhi principles to life.
The workbook provides an essential tool for optimizing personal
life choices and for developing healing, consulting, and leadership
skills in order to help others.
This new publication of a highly popular classic lives up to its
title in presenting very clear instructions for how to learn
astrology. As the first volume of a six volume series, this book
teaches "Basic Principles" in a proven critically acclaimed method.
Part 1 explains the symbolism of signs, planets, houses and
aspects. Part 2 provides detailed delineation of each of the
planets by sign, house placement and aspect, with thorough examples
and then quizzes that allow the reader to self-test. Throughout,
March and McEvers encourage their readers to "think like an
astrologer."

What’s your pooch’s lucky day of the week and favourite colour? Stella also shares insights into the breeds that may best suit your personality.

The Chinese Zodiac is a beautifully illustrated introduction to
eastern astrology, perfect for discovering what your sign-Rat, Ox,
Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, or
Pig-says about you. Are you loyal like the Dog? Or stubborn like
the Ox? What does the time you were born have to do with who you
are? And does it determine your fate? The Chinese Zodiac doesn't
have all the answers but offers a fun and fresh perspective on the
magic behind when you were born. Known as the Bazi, or Eight Words,
the four animals and Wuxing elements associated with one's birth
make up a complete horoscope and can help you to better understand
yourself and others. Someone born in the year of the Pig, for
example, comes last in the cycle and embodies qualities of release,
completion, and return, indulging in the rich after-hours of life
that favor food, love, and good company. A Rat, on the other hand,
comes first; they're ambitious and eager to begin new projects but
might have trouble seeing them through. No matter your sign, there
is something to be uncovered in these pages. Charmingly
illustrated, with sidebars on Chinese culture and myth throughout,
this book is an informative and mystical guide to knowing just a
little more about the universe-and how you fit into it.

Ancient astrologers declared stars "fixed" to distinguish them from
wandering stars, which they called planets. This book is the
distillation of two thousand years of astrological research. It is
a comprehensive survey of fixed stars in natal & mundane
astrology, the stars & constellations of medieval magic, and
fixed stars in astrometeorology. Robson gives their traditional
meanings & their effects when combined with planets &
angles. Convenient tables & a comprehensive index make this
volume easy to use. Included are some 110 named stars, as well as
48 ancient constellations & 60 modern ones. Arabic, Chinese
& Hindu lunar mansions are also discussed. Since its first
publication in 1923, this book has been the classic on fixed stars,
the one to which everyone since has referred. About the author:
Vivian Erwood Robson, 1890 - 1942, was a librarian by trade. Like
many librarians he had a natural bent for research, and, in his
particular case, astrology. He studied ancient astrologers closely,
including Ptolemy & William Lilly. His books on fixed stars,
electional astrology & relationships are 20th century classics.

The American Ephemeris 1950-2050 at Midnight, The Trans-Century
Edition, is published in response to multiple requests for a one
hundred year ephemeris covering these "most useful years." With the
years 1950 through 2050, only one ephemeris needs to be at hand,
especially when traveling, for an astrologer to do quick lookups of
both birth data and transiting data over the expected life span of
most people currently living. Since the 1976 publication of the
first version of The American Ephemeris, 1931-1980, Neil F.
Michelsen's ground-breaking series of ephemerides for astrologers
have consistently set standards for accuracy in astrology, becoming
indispensible to astrologers worldwide at every level from student
to professional. The tradition continues with the addition of this
new tropical ephemeris spanning from mid 20th century through mid
21st century. Rique Pottenger has revised and expanded the
Michelsen programming with updated Jet Propulsion Laboratory data
and improvements in the computer generating program that, for
example, enable finding double ingresses in a single day, plus more
accurate station times. A new formula increases the accuracy of the
Galactic Center calculation. Other new features have been added,
the most obvious of which are the dwarf planets Ceres and Eris, in
response to the 2006 decisions of the International Astronomical
Union. Monthly positions have also been added for the remaining
three of the former four major asteroids in wide use among
astrologers, Pallas, Juno and Vesta, and also for the centaur,
Chiron.
