When we use astrology, of course we want to look ahead and
anticipate the future. The easiest and most common method is
transits-a comparison of where the planets are in the zodiac now,
or at any time in the future, and how they relate to our birth
chart. But should we wait for our transits to "happen," (and worry
if they seem challenging)? No! With this author's positive
approach, experience and practical advice, we can learn how to
direct our transits! In her thorough explanation of transit cycles,
Joan Negus emphasizes that transits highlight opportunities. She
offers suggestions and insights gained though years of observation
and client counseling about how we can consciously plan how to make
the most of our "good" transits, while transmuting those
challenging "base" transits into golden opportunities!
Since the 1976 publication of his first version of The American
Ephemeris, 1931-1980, Neil F. Michelsen's ground-breaking series of
ephemerides have consistently set standards for accuracy in
astrology, becoming indispensable to astrologers worldwide at every
level from student to professional. The tradition continues with
this Revised & Expanded Third Edition of The American Ephemeris
for the 21st Century, 2000-2050 at Noon. Revisions and additions
are programmed by Rique Pottenger, who became head programmer for
ACS Publications after Michelsen's passing. Additions and
improvements include new Jet Propulsion Laboratory data and
programming refinements that enable finding double ingresses in a
single day plus more accurate station times. A new formula
increases the accuracy of the Galactic Center. Phenomena in the
Astro Data section are now sorted by time as well as by date, and R
appears with Planetary Ingress Data if a planet is retrograde when
it ingresses. The most notably obvious additions in this new
edition include the dwarf planet Ceres in daily longitude listings
between Mars and Jupiter, and monthly positions are given for Eris,
Chiron, Pallas, Juno and Vesta.
This Second Edition of the highly popular and best-selling The Only
Way to Learn Astrology series continues the traditions of Volumes 1
and 2 by presenting refinements of astrological interpretation, as
well as the actual process of "putting it all together" into a
meaningful, informative analysis. Part I, liberally sprinkled
throughout with horoscopes of many famous and fascinating
personalities, takes you through the 144 possible placements of
house rulers-valuable information that is otherwise difficult to
find in contemporary astrological literature. Part II presents
examples of depth analysis using the horoscopes of four prominent
individuals. Part III covers special, specific areas of delineation
such as health, vocation, personal appearance, marriage and more.
Integrating astrology, mythology and spirituality, this book is a
reflection on the themes of the astrological ages across the past
13,000 years and is an exploration of what astrology has to tell us
about the meaning of the changes happening globally and culturally
in this time. We are currently on the cusp of the Age of Aquarius,
at the end of a 26,000 year precessional cycle and, according to
ancient prophecies, at the close of a world era. With the recent
discovery of the planetoids Sedna and Eris, new forms of
consciousness are entering our awareness. Through listening to the
messages of the stars and planets, we find guidance for our lives
in this intense time of change. We live in a sentient universe,
which is calling us back into relationship with the cosmos and with
the Earth. In remembering our source (the galactic center),
reconnecting with the spirit in all of life and in becoming
centered within ourselves, we gain meaning and wisdom for who we
are and who we are becoming and find a path for the healing and
evolution of ourselves and our Earth.
In SELF-EVIDENT ASTROLOGY (TM) the planets mean what they are and
are what they mean. It is this simple. All we need to understand
astrology is to look into the nature of the solar system and sky
around us. This book shows that the physical arrangement of the
solar system, the orbital positions, the inclinations of orbital
planes and things such as the mere size of a planet lead to a
natural meaning for each planet. Jeffrey Sayer Close has been an
amateur astrologer for 40 years and the Director of the
Astrological Bureau of Ideas (www.aboi.com) for the past 12 years.
He has a B.A. in physics and a M.A. in telecommunications. He has
designed telecommunications network for over 25 corporations and
built his own successful telecom software company. He has often
been quoted and written about in trade press. He has also made
guest appearances on Andrea Klim's "Turn To The Stars" TV show in
Manchester, NH. Mr. Close has taken his background in science, his
experience in complex networks and long experience in astrology and
found new, more basic fundamentals of astrology. These fundamentals
have incorporated in his innovative astrological software,
INTREPID.
English-speaking readers fond of Astrology already know the Author,
thanks to his previous works - Transits and Solar Returns and Lunar
Returns and Earth Returns, which have also been translated into
several other languages. In a practice of almost forty years of
astrological research, the Author has studied and guided over
twenty thousand aimed birthdays; he has also published a dozen
books specifically on Solar Returns and Lunar Returns. This is his
fifth work in English; two of them can be downloaded free from his
webpage www.cirodiscepolo.it - In this volume Ciro Discepolo deals
with the second 'resource' on which his Active Astrology is based
(the first one being the aimed birthday): the so-called exorcism of
symbols. In these pages the Author suggests to the Reader about
what can be done when you cannot aim, i.e. actively relocate your
birthday (either your Solar or Lunar Return) by a practical
application of the notion of 'activating' or 'constellating' a
symbol. For example, Ciro Discepolo claims that if you can not
leave for an aimed birthday to avoid Saturn being placed in the 5th
House of your next Solar Return, during the twelve months covered
by the SR, you had better devote more time to your kids, help them
in their studies or in their sporting activities, pay the fee to
enrol them in a course, perhaps abroad, where they could learn new
subjects and/or nurture and improve their condition in a broad
sense. Planet by planet, House by House, this volume contains all
the suggestions of the Author on the exorcism of symbols - a useful
practice also in the case you do relocate your Solar and/or Lunar
Returns: for example if you have willingly left some dissonant
position in your map of Aimed SR or of Aimed LR, and you wish to
lower the threshold of risk a little more. The volume also explains
the philosophical and psychological roots justifying the practice
of the exorcism of symbols.
