Thomas H. Burgoyne was born in Scotland on April 14th 1855. As a child, he claimed visions of a group of advanced entities known as the Brotherhood of Light, whose purpose was to guide human destiny. After a meeting with M. Theon, said to be a representative of the Brotherhood, Burgoyne moved to California and, in company with another contactee Norman Astley, established a new occult order - The Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor. In 'The Light of Egypt' Burgoyne reveals the Brotherhood's teachings as a series of lessons in two volumes. Volume 1 is a wide-ranging exposition on spiritual wisdom, while Volume 2 explains its attainment, with special reference to astrology. Replete with esoteric wisdom - some unique to the teachings of the Brotherhood - both volumes of 'The Light of Egypt' are designed for the serious occult student, and will reward slow, patient study.
Long out of print and hard to find, this is the most celebrated book on eclipses of the last seventy years. In this book, learn the unique astronomical factors that create eclipses and why some eclipses are total while others are not. Learn how the Chaldeans discovered the Saros cycle in the sixth century BC, which is still in use today. Learn how the Greeks discovered the Metonic cycle. Find out how the Saros cycle is used in forecasting the effects of eclipses. Jansky gives the astrological key for all 19 of the Saros series. The author uses his understanding of eclipse mechanics in analysis. He uses the twelve houses of the chart, planets conjunct and opposed, the Saros series, fixed stars conjunct the eclipse as well as stars rising or setting on the horizon (ascendant/descendant), the planetary ruler, and the path of the Moon's shadow (the umbra) as it races across the earth during the eclipse itself. Jansky's interpretation of eclipses is rooted in Transactional Analysis (what I do to you becomes what you do to me, etc.), which, astrologically, is the study of polarities, which is what lunar and solar eclipses literally represent, and how these polarities, expressed as opposing signs and houses, can be resolved in terms of human relationships. Jansky delves into the astrological duration of an eclipse, prenatal eclipses, eclipses in rectification and eclipses and health. For case studies he tells of an eclipse-driven corporate crisis at his employer and how it impacted him, his fellow employees, and the management. In the data section, solar eclipses for the 20th century: Date, degree of the zodiac, total, partial or annular, and the Saros number. Also, longitudes of major fixed stars and general and medical bibliographies. A comprehensive book on eclipses. A must-have.

The mere mention of the word `teenager' can strike fear into the heart of the bravest soul, and yet there are some truly heroic individuals who make it a life-long mission to teach them. Alex Trenoweth is one such teacher. She also happens to be an astrologer. Her official subjects are Religious Studies, History and English, but from reading 'Growing Pains' you will quickly find that her true passion is the actual students themselves. Using the cycles of Jupiter and Saturn she untangles the confusing conundrum of why groups of students are so different from each other year on year, and sometimes even within year groups. How is an already over-worked teacher supposed to cope with this ongoing challenge? Alex Trenoweth has the answer.
Unabridged edition to include: Introduction (What Jehovah, Eve, David & John say) Parts I (Wonders and Possibilities of the Human Body) II (The Bridge of Life) III (Optic Thalmus), and a Vision of Immortality at book's end -
The material for THE TWELVE ASTROLOGICAL HOUSES: The Way of
Creative Accomplishment, was written in 1943-44, immediately
following THE ZODIAC as THE UNIVERSAL MATRIX. Like its companion
book, it is one of Rudhyar's most accessible and easy-to-read
works. It provides comprehensive descriptions of each of the ten
astrological planets in each of the twelve astrological houses. In
common with THE UNIVERSAL MATRIX, the astrological interpretations
are more striking, psychological and critical than what we came to
expect from Rudhyar during the second half of the 20th century. The
electronic publication includes hyperlinks to the birth charts of
dozens of interesting example nativities.
2013 Reprint of 1930 Edition. Exact facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. George Washington Carey (1845-1924) was an American physician known for a number of 1910s 'Chemistry of Life' publications, a subject which he referred to as biochemistry, particularly his 1919 "The Chemistry of Human Life." Carey combined a mixture of religion, astrology, physiology, anatomy, and chemistry, themed particularly with a mineral-based theory of human disease, to develop his theories. Carey is popular among the new-age and homeopathic circles. In the context of a person viewed as a "human molecule," Carey was the first to state that a person's body is a "chemical formula in operation." This title is the first part: "Relation of the Mineral Salts of the Body to the Signs of the Zodiac," of this classic and later publication; "The Zodiac and the Salts of Salvation." With the renewed interest in homeopathy, increased study of astrology and the entrance of the Aquarian Age, this book has gained more importance. It is an attempt to answer all the questions regarding the cell salts.
Over a decade of dedicated research Over a year of writing and editing With the blessings and guidance of a swami, a babaji, and a Sanskrit scholar, Vic DiCara presents you the world's most definitive, simple and completely awesome explanation of the mythology and meaning within the 27 stars of ancient Indian astrology If you are an astrologer or a fan of astrology, you will be transformed by Vic's radically clear and straightforward explanations of Sanskrit, Vedic mythology, and mastery of intuitive symbolism. If you are a lover of India and her culture, you will delight in these deep revelations and rare expositions of familiar gods like Vishnu, not-so-familiar gods like Varuna, and nearly forgotten gods like Ajaikapat. If you are a spiritual seeker, you will discover the origin of the universe, the meaning of life, and essential clues in the eternal quest for the "fountain of youth." "The 160 pages of this book are abundantly replete with exact references and footnotes to satisfy the scholars among you. The book is dripping with dramatic storytelling, filled with philosophy as clear and deep as a Himalayan lake, and precisely presents the perfectly useful astrological symbolism of the divine stars." * * "If there is anything Vedic and spiritual about Hindu astrology, then this is the book that can teach us about it. Vic leads us into the wonderful depths of Vedic wisdom by relating the myths connected with each of the 27 lunar mansions and their deities. Using this approach, this book goes considerably deeper than other Jyotish textbooks I have seen. Warmly recommended, even to non-astrologers Can we hope for follow-up book about the Hindu planetary deities?" - Dieter Koch, Indologist and Archaeoastronomer Co-creator of the Swiss Ephemeris "Vic DiCara's exploration and definitive research on the lunar mansions brings the primordial zodiac alive with the rich symbolism and sacred stories of Indian lore. We often forget that the basis of Vedic astrology will always be the mystical mythology associated with Jyotish, the science of light. Mr. DiCara's brilliant text illuminates our path home to the divine through his deep understanding and the blessings of the gods and goddesses of ancient India" - Dennis M. Harness, Ph.D. Psychologist, Writer and Vedic Astrologer "27 Stars, 27 Gods is a fantastically deep book about the fixed stars of Vedic astrology. It is well written and well researched, and is a clear and enjoyable read I highly recommend it for everyone from astrologers to yogis and everyone in between." - Juliana Swanson, RN ACVA Teacher, Jyotish Visharada & Kovid More than a journey through the outer universe of astrological stars, 27 Stars 27 Gods is a journey through the driving forces of the subconscious inner universe. By helping us identify these influences Vic DiCara helps us understand ourselves better and progress more smoothly on our life's journey. 27 Stars 27 Gods can be a reference book in the hands of an experienced astrologer, but it is also a self improvement tool for any reader interested in exploring life in depth. It presents symbols, mythology, ancient storytelling and divine lila in language that immediately catches one's interest and speaks to us like a friend - never prescriptive, but always revealing our opportunities. Let me congratulate Vic on this unique book. Unlike most books in the spiritual market, this is not at all a copy of a copy of a copy. It is an outstanding new addition to our knowledge, written with an inspired pen of intensity and wit. - Sripad Sacinandana Swami Vaishnava Guru & Sanyassi
For centuries, the Tong Shu (Chinese Almanac) has been used as the definitive guide for selecting good dates for important activities. Often, no important activity would be undertaken without first glancing at the Tong Shu to determine an auspicious day for it, or at the very least, to ensure that it was not being done on a bad day. Date selection ensures the success and effectiveness of a particular activity or endeavour. The 2013 Tong Shu Calendar is adapted from Joey Yap's Annual Tong Shu Diary. The highlights of this easy-to-use calendar: Daily Guide to Suitable and Unsuitable Activities for 2013; Guide to Feng Shui Afflictions and Influences for 2013; Monthly Astrology Guide for all 12 Animal Signs; Monthly Flying Stars Feng Shui Guide; Daily Flying Stars Feng Shui; All-in-One Chinese Solar, Lunar and Western Gregorian Calendar for 2013.
Behind your familiar astrological chart lurks another chart entirely, one whose existence you may never have suspected. It carries your treasures and your wounds. Where the astrologer's predictions and the realities of your life might not in all honesty have lined up, this chart-behind-the-chart will help you see why. This second, hidden chart tells the tale of who you were in a prior lifetime. It speaks of what wounded you then and what work you left undone. It warns of old ghosts that haunt you and the symptoms you experience when you let them grab the steering wheel of your life. This chart explains the reasons you have the chart you have today and it clarifies how you can get on with your evolutionary journey. In Yesterday s Sky, Steven Forrest completes the picture he began painting in his bestseller The Inner Sky over twenty-five years ago.
This is the new and expanded version of Day-Signs, originally published in 1991. In this edition there are some content and organizational changes in the introductory chapters, the listings of people born under each of the day-signs has been expanded, and the day-sign look-up tables now go to 2029. The original delineations of the 20 day-signs remain at the heart of the book, and these have been updated to include the author's latest insights. They are the first ever to be described in psychological terms, and the only ones produced by the analysis of over 400 examples. For those interested in astrology, it may come as a surprise to learn that the Maya and Aztecs of ancient Mexico and Central America had developed a comprehensive system of signs and cycles, very little of which has survived in the indigenous population to the present day. Tantalizing pieces of this astrological system do exist but there are many parts missing. One thing is known, however, and that is the central role of the 20 named days called day-signs. It is the reconstruction and reinterpretation of these symbolic images that is the subject of this book. The 20 day-signs are like a zodiac - a cycle of development that moves through various stages from origin to completion. Each of the day-signs has distinct qualities and as the 20 signs cycle through the calendar dates, they move with a secondary cycle of 13 numbers that deepen meanings. Finally, after 13 cycles of the 20 day-signs and 20 cycles of the 13 numbers, the larger cycle, called the Tzolkin by the Maya and Tonalpouhalli by the Aztecs, begins again. This 260-day cycle is at the core of the ancient astrology of the Americas and an understanding of it is a prerequisite to comprehending the other components of the system. Here, in this book, is a modern interpretation of each of the signs, translated from an ancient mindset into the shared reality of the present. Even though the rediscovery of ancient native American astrology is far from complete, readers will be fascinated that significant variations in personality, discovered in a strange culture a long time ago, are just as relevant today.
Called a "path breaker" among astrology books, with original research and in-depth coverage, the author combines non-technical and technical material very effectively in a compelling narrative. This book contains a riveting choice of biographies and historical, cultural events that illuminate both individual AND collective destinies. When Vedic astrology - the astrology of India - is combined with biography, history, politics, the arts and culture, a key missing component is provided to all of the above. In Search of Destiny is for astrologers, astrology students as well as for the layperson. The only criterion is an interest and openness to astrology. Find out how the planets affect individuals and whole nations and societies, and how the chart of a national leader is never separate from the nation ruled - for as long as he or she is in power. An extensive glossary, footnotes and index help the reader to navigate through the wide-ranging information provided in this book. For the novice, Chapter 2 provides a succinct summary of Vedic astrology and philosophy. Vedic charts are presented in both North and South Indian format, with the lifetime planetary cycles of the Vimshottari Dasha system - for which Vedic astrology is so famous. Any astrologer will benefit from the depth of research done here, and the layperson will find this a user-friendly book that broadens the horizons. "Edith Hathaway's remarkable new book In Search of Destiny is an astrological sensation on many levels. ...A narrative of individual dharma woven in the context of collective destiny.... Her innovative research of the 20-year Jupiter/Saturn cycles over a 1000-year period bears rich historical and thematic fruit... and includes her current and future predictions. I highly recommend In Search of Destiny ..." Dennis Flaherty, Vedic astrologer, President of CVA (Council of Vedic Astrology), Washington, USA.
The Astrology of Awakening: Eclipse of the Ego, by Eric Meyers M.A. puts forth a new paradigm for astrology, one that centers around spiritual realization instead of ego. This work details how the process of spiritual awakening can be understood astrologically, and seeks to fully include the transpersonal throughout the system. In the spirit of 2012 and a "shift in consciousness" this book aims to renew astrology for the 21st Century. It addresses the evolution of consciousness and spiritual growth with many thoughtful innovations and sensible reforms.
In Archetypes of Astrology, author Ena Stanley blends the themes of planets, signs and houses with their ancient mythological origins in a way that provides a useful and interesting introduction to the basics of astrology for readers who have little or no prior experience with astrological techniques. At the same time, she offers an enriching and enjoyable reading experience for advanced students and professional astrologers, or for readers whose primary interest is mythology. In the opening chapter, involving the evolution of astrology into the modern day, the reader is drawn in with Stanley's explanation of the patriarchal matrix and the matriarchal matrix and how in modern astrology, both have been blended into a workable paradigm. From there she shares how she began to develop her sense of the twelve basic astrological archetypes through her studies of psychology and of astrology, in particular with Zipporah Dobyns, Ph.D. In the chapters that follow, each of twelve basic archetypes blend astrology with a wealth of imagery through stories of myths that are rich in metaphor, adding new dimensions to our understanding of the signs, houses and planets of basic astrology. The mythologies behind Sun, Moon and the seven planets are further augmented with the correlations of dwarf planet Ceres and asteroids Pallas, Juno and Vesta with the 6th and 7th archetypes. Additionally, as the author points out in her concluding chapter, the study of myths and archetypes takes us into a greater understanding of motivations and behavior-to the essence of counseling astrology.
Employing a practical, mathematical approach, author Kenneth Coombs presents a scientific and comprehensive analysis of the twenty-two Tarot cards in the Major Arcana. This detailed examination deciphers the reactions and interactions of the Tarot cards with each other, rather than simply the individual meanings of each card. He shares the results of the 231 possible combinations. In Tarot Alchemy, Coombs, a chemist with more than thirty years of Tarot card reading experience, discusses a novel approach to understanding Tarot. He details the process of alchemy, which involves looking at each Tarot card as an element. The interactions of the Tarot cards are like reactions that create molecules, and it is the interactions of the Tarot cards with each other that give depth and enlightenment in a Tarot reading. This process has given him the ability to determine specific timeframes and even names of people and places using the cards. His approach of deciphering the interactions in a scientific way leads to new insights about the meanings of the Tarot cards in a reading. Tarot Alchemy shows how learning to find patterns in the cards strengthens intuitive abilities and unlocks the doors to understanding the Tarot cards.
'Astrological Chart Calculations' preserves and teaches the methods of the most basic astrological chart calculations and tells the story of its history. It addresses the disconnection between the actual process of mapping the sky and the arithmetic that is required to calculate a horoscope, a process required by some astrological certification exams. It presents the key concepts behind the celestial sphere, the keeping of time, the development of trigonometry and the nature of house systems. It is a general reference useful to any student of astrology, and anyone who has a reasonable grasp of algebra and geometry should be able to follow the explanations and worked calculations. It is hoped that a deeper knowledge of this traditional art of astrology, that is the challenge of mapping the sky and the mathematics of preparing a chart, will allow students to glean not only deeper insights into the subject, but also a unique contact with astrology's long history.
O"Astrological Remediation" brings to the spotlight a new approach for an imminently realistic and healing use of the astrological birth chart. . . [a] remarkable and vastly influential work.ONJudith Hill, astrologer.
George J. McCormack, (1887-1974) had a life-long interest in astrology and the weather. Inspired by the astrometeorological work of A.J. Pearce (1840-1923), McCormack meticulously tracked and recorded the weather, from before World War I, until his death more than half a century later. In 1947, after 23 years of research, he published his "key" to long-range weather forecasting, being this book. Confident of his ability, in the spring of 1947 McCormack predicted one of the most severe winters in decades, specifically forecasting the infamous snows of December 26, 1947. He was nationally famous overnight. The techniques he used are in this amazing book. With study, they will become yours. The weather bureau predicts the weather, day by day, by careful observation of current conditions. You can learn to predict based on underlying celestial factors, which can be known months, even years, in advance. In 1963, before the US Weather Bureau, and again in 1964, before the American Meteorological Society, McCormack presented his life's work. Both groups ignored him, to our great loss. Use this book, make a better choice.
Cosmic astrology, as known and lived by the ancients, pointed the way of man's journey in life through the ages of time. If it were correctly understood and used today it would also point the way for man's regeneration and return to Pure Source, the Godhead from which humanity, and all life comes. This ancient knowledge lives; it can never be destroyed. Words of truth live forever, but humanity in the endless striving for wealth and power pushes them into the background to be seemingly lost, to lie forgotten, except by a very few of the truly advanced sages who will keep them alive until mankind wearies of warring with his brother and exploiting for gain against those weaker than himself. These old teachings of wisdom can be found if one cares to seek. They are in the Bible, the Kabala, the Chaldean Book of Numbers, the Stanzas of Dzyan, and in mythology. The meanings are always obscured and difficult to understand, but they are there. In this context, you will learn about what astrology is and is not, the spiritual nature of astrology, the secondary suns, the nature of the planets and the principles they express, the nature and function of the signs, the houses and aspects from a cosmic perspective, human beings as the ultimate creation, and the history of astrology.
