A combination of dramatic reconstruction, spectacular photography and Simon Schama's unique, personal style of storytelling transport the viewer back to the intense moments when great works were conceived and born: the murderous, messianic world of Baroque Rome; opulent, parvenu Amsterdam; paranoid, revolutionary Paris; Victorian England suffocating beneath riches and righteousness; the madhouses and brothels of Provence; the carnage of civil war Spain; 1950s New York, caught between Cold War jitters and Manhattan glitter. In each place, a great artist is backed into a corner, facing a crisis, given a chance to confound his rivals, enemies and critics one more time.

The acclaimed light-hearted murder-mystery series returns, along with its eponymous Vespa-driving, crime-solving Catholic nun. It’s the 1960s and Sister Boniface, with her aptitude for detective work, is an invaluable asset to the Great Slaughter Police Department. Her faith in forensics is only rivalled by her passion for investigation. If there’s evidence to be found, Boniface will find it. In this season, the sister forces a murderer into checkmate at a chess tournament, takes a spin at a pirate radio station, confronts a coven of witches and defends her own reputation as the conviction of her greatest adversary, “The Good Samaritan”, comes into question.
The hit police corruption drama from the makers of Bodyguard returns and Season 6 of Line of Duty sees AC-12 facing their most enigmatic adversary so far: Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer of a high-profile unsolved murder. The team conducts an urgent investigation, but upheavals within AC-12 itself threaten to tear their work apart. The latest David Attenborough nature documentary series, shot in HD. This ambitious 2006 series, described as 'the definitive look at the diversity of our planet' was the first ever to be filmed entirely in high definition. Every episode but the first one looks at one of the Earth's natural habitats and examines its local features, together with the breadth of fauna found there. While filming it, the crew caught several firsts - places and animals never before caught on camera. The fact that it was co-funded by Discovery Channel, BBC and Japan's NHK, took 5 years to make and was shot in over 200 locations is apparent and the series is everything you'd expect from Sir David Attenborough and his team if they were unconstrained by budget or practicality.

The true story of Rome told through six crucial moments that shaped the destiny of the Empire. The Roman Empire - the ancient world's only superpower - stood for six hundred years, a period in which dictatorship usurped democracy, nations were enslaved, the city of Rome was rebuilt and the Empire embraced Christianity. In this epic mini-series, CGI is mixed with compelling drama to tell the dramatic stories - the great battles, rivalries, rebellions and momentous achievements - that shaped the Roman Empire. The story begins in 146BC with Rome's destruction of its ancient enemy Carthage; leading to the celebrated victory of Julius Caesar and the overthrow of the Republic; Emperor Nero's dramatic descent into madness; the Jewish Revolt - the biggest rebellion in Imperial history; Constantine's delivery of Christianity to the Empire; and finally the downfall of Rome, told through the tale of Alaric the Goth. It reveals the greed, lust and ambition of men like Caesar, Nero and Constantine and with stunning locations and state-of-the-art visual effects portrays Rome as it really was: gritty, sometimes sordid, but ultimately magnificent.
