Recommended for lenses between 36 and 62mm in diameter with a focal length over 35mm. Cokin square filters fit into a holder and are attached to a lens via an adapter ring, the photographer has a number of immediate advantages:

a) there is no need to duplicate filters to fit different size lenses,
b) up to three filters can be used at once to create unique effects,
c) the photographer has control over the positioning of the effect on the photograph.

How the Cokin System works
1. Screw the adapter ring onto your lens. System "A" rings come in the following diameters; 36/37/39/40.5/41/42/43/43.5/44/46/48/49/52/54/55/58/62mm and Hasselblad special rings.
2. Slide the filter holder on the adapter ring until it snaps in place. The filter holder is now solidly attached to the lens, yet it can rotate both left and right.
3. Slide the filter into one of the filter holder slots. The one closest to the filter holder housing is the narrowest; it allows the use of round filters with notched edges (polarizer, star filters..). The two central slots are intended for square filters. The outer slot can be used either for an additional filter or for a coupling ring.

LEICA VIEWFINDER MAGNIFIER M 1.25x & 1.4x

The Leica Viewfinder Magnifier M 1.25x magnifies the viewfinder image by one quarter and the Leica Viewfinder Magnifier M 1.4x by two fifths. They provide a major aide in framing the subject at focal lengths above 50 mm.

The viewfinder 1.25x is recommended for focal lengths of 50 mm or more and the viewfinder 1.4x for focal lengths of 75 mm or more. By magnifying the rangefinder images, it greatly enhances focusing accuracy, especially when shooting at telephoto focal lengths.

The 1.4 x viewfinder magnifier turns into magnification of 1x (0.95x with M8 Models); this combination allows comfortable viewing of the subject with both eyes.

The viewfinders are simply screwed into the viewfinder ocular of the Leica M. A small chain attached to the Leica M's carrying strap eyelet prevents it from being lost or damaged. A leather pouch is supplied for safekeeping when it's not attached.

The effect of this filter is quite powerful. It darkens violet and blue very strongly, green strongly, it even darkens yellow-green a bit. Landscape- and architectural photographs have an increased, virtually “graphic” contrast, clouds in the sky already look dramatic. Because skin tones are strongly lightened in relation to the green tones of plants, this is a favored filter for nude photography outdoors, because it raises the contrast between the lighter bodies and darker landscapes. Its filter factor is approximately 4.

The PENTAX XW 40 eyepiece is exclusively designed for telescopes that feature a 2 inch focuser. With strong blue suppression, which extends into the blue-green, clouds in the sky look very natural, but not yet dramatic. Distant views with light haze become clearer. An ideal filter, especially for landscape and plant photographs. Its filter factor is approximately 2.

Single Coating
Each glass surface is vacuum coated with one layer of Anti-Reflection coating. This single layer helps to prevent internal ghosting and reflections. It also improves light transmission from approximately 92% (uncoated glass) to over 98%.

This filter uses our standard B+W F-Pro filter mount, which has a front accessory thread and is made of brass. Compared to the earlier standard mount introduced in 2001, the F-Pro mount has become thinner. Now it can be used with wide angle lenses, including most 24mm focal lengths on a full frame body, without vignetting. Another advantage of the F-Pro mount is it's modified retaining ring, which is no longer threaded in from the front, but holds the filter glass in place from the back. When removing a filter or lens hood that has been screwed on too tight to the filter, the retaining ring is not at risk of loosening.
NOTE: diopters are mounted in the older mount due to glass thickness.

This dark yellow filter gives a greater attenuation into the blue-green range than a light yellow filter. This leads to a further increase in the effect of darkening blue and lightening of yellow, orange and red. This filter is interesting for snow scenes under a blue sky, because the darkened blue shadows in the snow make the shapes of the landscape look more dimensional. Landscapes containing clouds and blue skys are rendered dramatically. Freckles and skin blemishes are diminished strongly, but lips are rendered more pale (to compensate for you may use a dark lipstick!). Its filter factor is approximately 3.

This UV Filter blocks the invisible UV component of light from the sky, which can cause blur and to which many color films react with a blue cast. These filters should be called UV-Blocking Filters, because there are filters for technical applications that pass UV radiation and block all the other wavelengths. Nevertheless, the short term “UV Filter” has become established among photographers. UV Filters are ideal for photography in high altitudes (in the mountains), by the sea and in regions with very clean air. The pictures gain brilliance and disturbing blue casts are avoided. Because the glass is colorless, color rendition is not altered, aside from the elimination of the unwanted blue cast, and no increase in exposure is required. That makes a UV Filter very suitable as protection of the front element of the taking lens against dust, flying sand, sea water spray and the like, and it can be kept on the lens at all times. It is recommended for analog color and black-and-white as well as digital photography.
